A volte si trovano cose di grande valore senza cercarle e qualche volta le abbiamo sotto gli occhi ma non le vediamo.

Soltanto una Peonia.
Two ways of seeing and capturing the same spot in the forest:
one close up and the other one taken with intentional camera movement.
Made my way down to Friars Crag for sunrise this morning and got to the viewpoint to wait. Looked over at Catbells and noticed the moon. Not planned at all and it's not something I ever check for so really fortunate.
Frantic few minutes flapping like crazy because though there was hardly any wind the cloud was just about to cover it!
Lucky to get a really nice sunrise as well. Weather had been pretty poor apart from about an hour at Ullswater a couple of mornings before and the previous nights sunset.
another from the Santa Fe RenFair.. to see the whole series of Clan Tynker's performance head over to my facebook page at www.facebook.com/photographybybytegirl
Gloomy day on Como lake, in Menaggio. As the title indicates, this glimpse was a happy discovery to which I really couldn't resist dedicating a black and white version, I hope you like it. Long exposure obtained with the Light Composite Olympus technique.
From the opening to my exhibition "the fragile web of human connection" at Wallstyle gallery in Duesseldorf last night. Fantastic event! Thanks to all who came and shared the moment with us.

This Carnation vendor has picked the perfect spot to sell her drinks. Right under the blooming trees!
At a time when almost all trees are denuded, I was so pleased to discover this tree in full colour, especially juxtaposed with the dilapidating, old Hawthorne factory across the river. It was such an overcast and dull day, but maybe that suits November perfectly.

we are all powerful, interesting creatures that are all living completely separate experiences, all within the same relative time, and that in itself is extraordinary

My old phone, still switch on, decided today was the day it has it’s last hurrah. At 3:30am precisely the time it woke me last week it started the opening bars to Harry’s game accompanied by a low hum of a vibrate. A rude awakening, I fumbled about to shut it up. My eyes were open. My thoughts drifted to the bad news from yesterday, Toby was diagnosed with chronic kidney decease, back to square one and racking our brains on managing a dogs special diet. I was well awake now and of course by bladder kicked in and urgency soon got the better of me. Going to the toilet, I looked out the window and glimpsed an interesting sky, a sunrise with promise, maybe. Back to bed, my head swimming I decided to go with the flow and got up for an unexpected appointment with the coast and the sunrise. I made my way to the Leas and headed towards Man Haven cove only to find a bloke sitting on the shingle drinking a can of beer, at 4:15 in the morning his night was still not over. So I headed further along the cliffs and followed a downward path to the edge of a small rock face about 4 metres. High. Madness took over and I decide to climb down to the rocks below where I found my one and only composition and let the sea and sun do the the rest. The photographs I then captured I can only describe as sublime, whether they are beautiful or not I’ll let you decided. For me they are too in your face as it were, like a song you instantly like only to soon get sick of after hearing it a couple of times. However after a series of unforeseen events I’m happy I now own a two or three keepers, it can’t be all bad.
Remember when Average Joe Railfan's only hope of catching something worthwhile was just by virtue of showing up? I recently lucked into just such a morning of "old-school" railfanning.
With nary a "Heritage Units dot com" report, Facebook sighting, nor other railfan-network-inside-scoop-heads-up, I stumbled across NS 20T running under the abandoned C&NW bridge at Curran, IL, led by Reading heritage SD70ACe 1067. Better to be lucky than good I guess...at first glance, I thought it was a UP leader.
That paint surely needs some touching up, but I figure this unit's next trip to the paint booth will result in a new coat of the black and white...or the scrapper's torch.
We looked out and saw that it was good.
