It's been said that Mt. Rundle is the most photographed peak in Canada. Easy to see why. I can confirm that it is the mountain that I have aimed at the most.
I was blessed to be here this evening to take in this sweet sunset. Truly a serendipitous moment and event.
A few more shots of Rundle Rapture below:
Thanks for taking a look and for any comments or suggestions.
Have a wonderful weekend!
This photograph is for my husband, John. One like it caught his eye out today, so I tried my best to duplicate it from one I had taken in the San Juans. It was one of those serendipitous moment that spurred me on. And the name of the sailboat is 'Adventuress'.

1. The faculty of making fortunate discoveries by accident.
2. The fact or occurrence of such discoveries.
3. An instance of making such a discovery.
Serendipity. Look for something, find something else, and realize that what you’ve found is more suited to your needs than what you thought you were looking for.

I think a lot more decisions are made on serendipity than people think.
Things come across their radar screens and they jump at them.

Sorry I haven't been posting much lately! There are a lot of things going on this summer.
I have some news too, I will not be attending school in this upcoming September. I have decided to stay a year and work my butt off. I realized that I'm not financially ready to go away to school yet, so this is what's best for the time being.
My life is moving so fast, it's really hard to catch up sometimes. I feel like my body itself is dragging behind my soul. If that makes sense...
I'm going to try my best to get back into the habit of going out and shooting, and actually having photoshoots. I miss it dearly.
One single long exposure. No photoedition : straight out of the camera except for contrast/crop.
This one is a weird one. Everything that was planned went wrong : the CRT was misaligned, I forgot to put the aperture back to f8 after checking my frame at f1.4, so the final result is overexposed and weirdly aligned.
At first I was blaming myself for this failure. But when I've seen the picture on my computer, I was happily surprised.

As we drove away, a freight train went over. Gutted to have missed grabbing that as part of the photo.

Who said I wasn't going to still use my point-and-shoot? ;)
It's gotten me two Explored photos, and it's been with me through so many occasions.
This is for AGMA. I have to say, I am really pleased with this photo. Everything came together very nicely. I made the yellow skirt; by far my favourite AGMA outfit so far. ^_^

Tower Bridge (built 1886–1894) is a combined bascule and suspension bridge in London. The bridge crosses the River Thames close to the Tower of London and has become an iconic symbol of London. Tower Bridge is one of five London bridges now owned and maintained by the Bridge House Estates, a charitable trust overseen by the City of London Corporation. It is the only one of the Trust's bridges not to connect the City of London directly to the Southwark bank, the northern landfall being in Tower Hamlets.
City Hall is the headquarters of the Greater London Authority (GLA), which comprises the Mayor of London and the London Assembly. It is located in Southwark, on the south bank of the River Thames near Tower Bridge. It was designed by Norman Foster and opened in July 2002, two years after the Greater London Authority was created.
Just as I was snapping the shutter on this group of seals the wave broke and a crab boat suddenly rose up on a huge offshore swell....sometimes you just have to surrender to the moment...sigh.
Serendipity: a "fortuitous happenstance" or "pleasant surprise"
When I went to the garden last weekend I had no idea the New Mexico Orchid Guild was showing their flowers in the conservatory - So all of my orchid shots are serendipity :)

Think this is quite apt in describing the birth of Julie louise. Certainly she has transformed my life in such a happy way.
Driving home from a friend's house in between the country and suburbia....saw a sign for an Alpaca Open House.
Now that's a sign you don't see every day.
Or ever.
So I quickly turned in. The road was beautiful with farms on either side, but no other signs. Hmmm, I thought. They sure aren't going to get any customers if they can't do a better job with signage. I finally turned around and this scene was practically in front of me. It was right next to the road! I wish I could do HDR because I would love to see this in the depth HDR lends to a photo. Anyway, here it is.
When I got out to the road I looked at the sign again.
Seems the open house was for a future date.

Sometimes you encounter something truly extraordinary. For example, a drive through Salt Lake City with my dad on May 7, 1977 yielded this antique locomotive. NW2 No. 1003 was at that time, the oldest operating locomotive on the Union Pacific roster. Built by EMC for the UP in May 1940, it would be retired from the active roster the following month. Technically, 1003 was at the time more than four years older than UP 844 and 18 months older than UP "Big Boy" 4014.
