An unusual car for a disabled person. There really was a card behind the windscreen.

In a neighborhood that doesn't seem very rich we drove from one classic car to the other. Not being hidden in garages has its advantages. At least, for other people than the owner..

The dust is not from the train, but from the photographer's car screeching to a halt.

Despite embarking on a very short chase of 6CM5 (hauled by CLF4, S311, S303. GM27 and CLP12) from Coolamon to Junee sub-terminal, there was still the mandatory cross field shot to show off the variety of colour schemes on the motive power.

I maintain I was only here for the textures in the fields behind the train - the train is just foreground interest.

CLF4 has been hired from RailPower at Goulburn, whilst S303 was on hire from Seymour Rail Heritage Centre. S311 and GM27 are former CFCL Australia locos now owned by SSR and CLP12 is a former Aurizon loco that was purchased and returned to service.

Wow! Seven years ago today since these five beauties came to South Australia with legendary locomotive driver, Bernie Baker at the controls in a epic chase for streamliner fans such as us and was broadcast to the World on Season 2 of Railroad Australia.

B61, S317, GM27, GM10 & S302 led the charge with 90 ex. Leigh Creek coal hoppers destined for grain haulage ops with SSR.

The train was pictured at Smart Road, North of Jamestown whilst working upgrade and boy did it sound good 😌. Music of the gods.

Just as sunrise pokes up over the Riverina in southern NSW, Southern Shorthaul Railroads 6CM5 loaded Emerald grain from Coolamon, charges away with CLF4, S311, S303, GM27 and CLP12. The train would stable at Junee Sub Terminal and swap over locos with CLP12 coming off and CLF2 being added. Both CLF4 and CLF2 are on loan from RailPower and S303 being on loan from SRHC to SSR.

Some initial photos from Streamliners 2016 - a one-off special event, organised by train driver (engineer) and GM streamliner tragic Bernie Baker and held in Goulburn, NSW. It brought together Clyde-GM/EMD and Goodwin-Alco streamlined locomotives originally from three different Australian state railway systems on two different gauges, now from a plethora of owners and operators. While many are now preserved or even withdrawn (with uncertain futures), some still see commercial freight train work!

*colloquialisms - "bullring" was used for tracks around a turntable without a roundhouse building, "bulldogs" is used for GM/EMD streamlined nose locomotives!

A very elegant way of cruising around on a sunny Saturdat afternoon.

Fuel prices fell during our time in France, slightly higher here than I'd seen elsewhere.

On a stinking hot 17-2-07, Steamrail Victoria ran a trip with double S class units to Whycheproof and return. The 2 units Steamrails S313 and Pacific Nationals S301 are seen running down the main street after dropping off their passengers

SSRs BG locos S302, S317, T363, P16 & S312 lead 9197 empties from Kensington/Tottenham to Manangatang. Seen on approach to Ballarat Station. This was a rare occasion, where this service ran during daylight hours.

S302 is currently out of action, sitting at North Bendigo Workshops on transfer bogies, having sustained an electrical fire. 13/03/22

Having just returned from Melbourne with the 'Southern Aurora 60th Anniversary' Special, T357 ^ S303 prepare to run around their empty cars at Central for their return run to Thirlmere.
