I'm sure a few years back you would have been able to get a clearer view of the pseudo street running down Broadway at Whycheproof in Victoria. The plethora of signs and some sizeable trees mean shadows are a real problem at this time of year.

Another view of the Port Augusta to Lithgow transfer of 90 redundant coal hoppers on 28 October 2016, behind vintage Clyde/EMD units S317/GM27/GM10/S302, seen climbing away from Mambray Creek.
The hoppers are likely to see further, as yet unspecified, use in New South Wales.

SSR Bulldog locos S317,GM10 work an empty rail train from Melbourne heading North past The Rock on 18-7-11.
S317 started life with VR and V/line before heading to Great Northern under private ownership and finally Southern Shorthaul Railroad.
GM10 started with the Commonwealth railways, Australian National then to Great Northern and now is with SSR.
Steamrail Victoria’s S301 & S313 are seen pulling into Newport Station, ahead of a long journey to Wycheproof for the Steamrail Members Christmas train.

Wow! Seven years ago today since these five beauties came to South Australia with legendary locomotive driver, Bernie Baker at the controls in a epic chase for streamliner fans such as us and was broadcast to the World on Season 2 of Railroad Australia.
B61, S317, GM27, GM10 & S302 led the charge with 90 ex. Leigh Creek coal hoppers destined for grain haulage ops with SSR.
The train was pictured at Smart Road, North of Jamestown whilst working upgrade and boy did it sound good 😌. Music of the gods.
A very elegant way of cruising around on a sunny Saturdat afternoon.
Fuel prices fell during our time in France, slightly higher here than I'd seen elsewhere.
S312 running as 8D02, pass through Lawson station and Lawson's iconic hotel as it heads westbound towards Blayney.

It's 1728hrs on 17 April 2018 at Wedderburn Jct, Victoria, half an hour before sunset, as Southern Shorthaul Railroads' broad gauge S317/S302 pass through with #9198 loaded grain from Sea Lake to Kensington (Melbourne).

Sun still rising and the cold air disapating, CLF4 leads S311, S303, GM27 and CLP12 through Old Junee with Southern Shorthaul Railroads 5CM6 loaded Emerald grain from Coolamon to Appleton Dock in Victoria.
Cruising away from Echuca in Victoria, B74, S313 and X31 crawl towards Moama in New South Wales with 9071 bound for Deniliquin as they cross the Murray River, the border between Victoria and New South Wales.

Coming up from Victoria's Seymour Rail Heritage Centre, S303,P22 and T357 represent the Victorian Railways VR Blue and Gold are at the Streamliners 2022 event at Goulburn on 1-10-22
X31 guides T356, S303 and T386 away from Tocumwal across the Murray River bridge from NSW into Victoria as 9374 to Vic Dock.

During 2013 while the CFCLA S class were in South Australia, they were used a few times on the Balco trains between Bowmans and Pelican Point. On the afternoon of 25-7-13, S300,S311 work 4120 Balco from Bowmans to Pelican Point over the Port River bridge at Port Adelaide
A year ago today on 17 April 2018, Southern Shorthaul Railroads' broad gauge former Victorian Railway S class locos S317/S302 approach Hamiltons Lane near Loddon in Victoria with #9198 loaded grain from Sea Lake to Kensington (Melbourne).

Goodwin-Alco model DL500B "World Series" 4486 is flanked by locos built by the competition, Clyde GM model A7 (later A16C) S300 and GM27.
S300 is the classleader of the Victorian S class and was built in 1957, the other two are young'uns, built 10 years later in 1967!

EMD-powered S302 is 61 years old this year, having been built by Clyde Engineering for the Victorian Railway in 1957.

S311,S300 push the Balco service from Bowmans Intoo the sidings at Pelican Point on 25-7-13 while they were on hire to Balco from CFCLA
With a combined age of 118 years former Victorian Railway broad gauge S class units S302/S317 head their Sea Lake bound empty grain train under the mainline outloader at Nullawil in Victoria on 17 April 2018.
The EMD-powered units were both built in Australia by Clyde Engineering; S302 in 1957 and S317 in 1961. Both have had several owners since passing on from Victorian government ownership and both are now owned by niche market freight operator Southern Shorthaul Railroad.
Remarkably less than 18 months ago both were on standard gauge and ran a couple of long distance wagon transfer moves from South Australia to New South Wales (see pic below)

Seymour Rail Heritage Centre's S303, P22 & T357 are seen leading train 6L63 from Sydney to Melbourne, near Gowanbrae. The train was operating for the 60th anniversary of the Southern Aurora passenger train, which ran between the two cities.
With their pit stop at Korong Vale done and back underway, S312,P16,T363 and S317 roll through the fields of wheat near Wedderburn Jct with 9198 loaded SSR Allied Grain from Nullawil to Kensington/Appleton Dock
Having just returned from Melbourne with the 'Southern Aurora 60th Anniversary' Special, T357 ^ S303 prepare to run around their empty cars at Central for their return run to Thirlmere.
Well after midday the sun is starting to get a tad too high as S317/GM27/GM10/S302 approach Dowds Hill a few kms east of Peterborough, South Australia, on their epic journey to New South Wales.

The sun tries its best to come out during a rainy 1-10-22 at the the Streamliners 22 event with 4464,961,42105,4201,4204,GM19,GM10,S303 lined up around the Goulburn turntable
Just as sunrise pokes up over the Riverina in southern NSW, Southern Shorthaul Railroads 6CM5 loaded Emerald grain from Coolamon, charges away with CLF4, S311, S303, GM27 and CLP12. The train would stable at Junee Sub Terminal and swap over locos with CLP12 coming off and CLF2 being added. Both CLF4 and CLF2 are on loan from RailPower and S303 being on loan from SRHC to SSR.
