Running is real. It's all joy and woe, hard as diamond. It makes you weary beyond
comprehension, but it also makes you free.
This is a photograph from the 34th ABN AMRO Marathon Rotterdam which was held in Rotterdam, The Netherlands on Sunday 13th April 2014 at 10:30 (CET). This photograph is one of a larger set of photographs which were taken at the start, the 17 mile mark, and the finish of the marathon. How can I download these pictures to my computer or device?
You can download the photographic image here direct to your computer or device. This version is the low resolution web-quality image. How to download will vary slight from device to device and from browser to browser. However - look for a symbol with three dots 'ooo' or the link to 'View/Download' all sizes. When you click on either of these you will be presented with the option to download the image. Remember just doing a right-click and "save target as" will not work on Flickr.
How can I get full resolution, print-quality, copies of these photographs?
If you just need these photographs for online usage then they can be used directly once you respect their Creative Commons license and provide a link back to our Flickr set if you use them. For offline usage and printing all of the photographs posted here on this Flickr set are available free, at no cost, at full image resolution.

I ran in the race - but my photograph doesn't appear here in your Flickr set! What gives?
As mentioned above we take these photographs as a hobby and as a voluntary contribution to the running community in Ireland. Very often we have actually ran in the same race and then switched to photographer mode after we finished the race. Consequently, we feel that we have no obligations to capture a photograph of every participant in the race. However, we do try our very best to capture as many participants as possible. But this is sometimes not possible for a variety of reasons:
►You were hidden behind another participant as you passed our camera
►Weather or lighting conditions meant that we had some photographs with blurry content which we did not upload to our Flickr set
►There were too many people - some races attract thousands of participants and as amateur photographs we cannot hope to capture photographs of everyone
►We simply missed you - sorry about that - we did our best!
You can email us petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com to enquire if we have a photograph of you which didn't make the final Flickr selection for the race. But we cannot promise that there will be photograph there. As alternatives we advise you to contact the race organisers to enquire if there were (1) other photographs taking photographs at the race event or if (2) there were professional commercial sports photographers taking photographs which might have some photographs of you available for purchase. You might find some links for further information above.

The posters are announcing films from Mollywood, meaning the cinema industry of Kerala, which is in Malayalam laguage and therefor M-ollywood, whereas Bollywood come from Bombay... One can get this type of film all the time on the TV also, one doesn't need to know any language to understand the story, just see it and youo will understand. I loved the experience!

Hellingly Asylum
Date opened: 1903 - 1994
Architect: George Thomas Hine FRIBA, Consultant architect to the Commisioners in Lunacy
Layout: Compact arrow plan with villas
East Sussex decided to provide a new asylum after a brief period of as principal owners of the Haywards heath asylum. The construction of the new building allowed the county to leave the frequently-overcrowded old asylum to the Brighton authority and take up more extensive facilities at Hellingly.
Designed by prominent asylum architect, George Thomas Hine, Hellingly was to be one of the most advanced county asylum designs at the time of its construction and can be seen as a smaller scale enhancement of ideas employed at the London County Council's Bexley Asylum. The site, forming part of Park Farm was located to the north-east of Hailsham a short distance from Hellingly village and railway station. The site sloped south and the northern area was bounded by woodland. A minor road was re-routed to maintain the security and privacy of the site.

The scene was: you're there - on the Toronto Islands - looking for a Wireless connection and the gull - beuty like the sun - runs along the road. Quite curious.

The 1st round of the 2013 Mullingar Road League 5KM Race, Fun Run, and Walk was held in Belvedere House and Gardens, Mullingar, Co. Westmeath, Ireland on Wednesday 1st May 2013 at 20:00. The race follows a completely traffic free course around the trails and paths of Belvedere House. The race is promoted by Mullingar Harriers for the Pat Finnerty Memorial Cup. The race organisers and participants were treated to a beautiful May evening with warm sunshine and a gentle breeze. There was a fantastic atmosphere as runners and joggers and walkers tackled the undulating course and a tough finish up the hill at the Jealous Wall and the finish line at Belvedere House. A great evening in the midlands and a race that shows all that is great in the participation and volunteering that goes into athletics events like this.

Overall Race Summary
Participants: Approximately 550 people took part in both events with runners, joggers, walkers, and families involved.
Weather: This was a wonderfully bright evening with little or no breeze.
Course: This is an undulating course with some good downhill sections near the lake but also some short sharp hill sections on the trails in the woodlands.
