I ended up dropping almost all the way back to the 4 hour pace holders, at least I could hear them yelling words of encouragement behind me, but I damned well wasn't going to be overtaken by them, so I ended up upping my pace again for the last few km.

I graduated to small children in my latest panning attempt.

Sometimes the simplest things...

The pronghorn antelope is the second-fastest land mammal after the cheetah. I don't know who scared this buck - it wasn't me - but he was high-tailing it from left to right at a constant distance in front of me, to get away from something to my left.

Enter sport photography mode. This was the best capture of the burst.

I've seen these guys hit freeway speed. This one was a gear below that -- maybe 35-40 mph (55-65 kph) ?
