Good to have the BMMO S21 (5870, LHA870F) moving under her own power again, albeit briefly as part of a move around at AMRTM. It would be lovely to get the brakes reassembled and see this rarity back on the road.
This little cownose ray was feeding on Coquina in the shallows and was left high and dry by an outgoing wave. It sputtered and flapped, but seemed to be making its way in the wrong direction! I picked it up after a few photos and tossed it back into the water, where it was again gliding by with its dozens of friends, in search of an easy meal.
From the 'do later' pile. Lots of long exposure stuff from around Eastlands, this fella moves as quickly as Gareth Barry....

This is a photograph from the 32nd annual Bohermeen AC Patrick Bell and Nicky Phillips Memorial 5KM Road Race, Jog, Walk, and Fun Run which was held at Bohermeen AC, Ardbracan, Navan, Co. Meath, Ireland at 19:30 on Saturday, 10th June 2017. The race was held in very summer conditions with a strong summer breeze. This year seen a return to the traditional fixture on the first or second Saturday in June as the race was held on the last Sunday in May last year 2016. The race commemorates Patrick Bell, the late Bohermeen clubman who died tragically in the summer of 1985 following a traffic accident, whilst returning home from Cork having competed in the National track championships. Nicky Phillips is a former athlete and president of Bohermeen AC and is also remembered today. The wonderful atmosphere, the great racing and participation, the work by the club, Meath Athletics, the local community, and the beautiful summer's day, yet again, a fitting tribute to Patrick's memory and his contribution to Athletics in Ireland. The race also commemorates clubman Nicky Philips. Congratulations to everyone involved. Everything that is good about grassroots athletics and running in Ireland was on show in Bohermeen today. The race started 400m from the Bohermeen AC track and heads towards Navan. The course then makes 3 right hand turns around some beautiful rural country roads and turns back to Bohermeen AC and then back for the final kilometer which is straight to the track and the finish on about 60 meters of athletics track. Participants, friends and families were able to enjoy a BBQ outside on the infield of the athletics track at the club house. Over 450 runners, walkers and joggers took part in today's event with many more choosing to take part without chip timing.

Our team feeling tired after driving all day long.
So we were parking near Qinghai Lake.
I found a boy was running.
Had to run to target today to buy a picture frame. Bought needed picture frame, as well as totally unneeded black summer dress, brown liquid eyeliner and bikini top (eek!). I love going to Target for one thing and coming out with six other things...

This is a photograph from the first running of the Clonard GAA 4 Mile Road Race, Fun Run and Walk which was held in the village of Clonard, Co. Meath, Ireland on Wednesday 2nd August 2017 at 19:30. This race was organised to faciliate the continued fund raising for the wonderful new GAA facilities at St. Finian's Park - the new home of Clonard GAA. The race itself was an outstanding success with over 400 participants including over 230 participants having chip timing. The new GAA facilities provided ample car parking and space for refreshments and mingling afterwards.
The four mile distance is something of a novelty these days on the road racing circuit and the large field shows that the distance holds an attraction for runners, joggers and walkers.
The race started and finished at the new GAA pitch and incredibly only 20 meters separated the start and finish line of the race. The route took the participants east bound on the R148 towards Enfield through the village of Clonard and onwards to take a right turn onto Keegan's boreen to cross the M4/M6. The route then took a right turn on the Clonard Edenderry road to return back to Clonard with another crossing of the M4/M6 motorway.
As this was the first running of the race the support from local athletes was very visible.
Credit must go to Clonard GAA and Clonard Community Council who provided excellent organisation on all aspects of the race including event management, parking and race stewarding with the Gardai. This race can be an example to every other club in Ireland in how a properly organised race can be run.

Very often we have actually ran in the same race and then switched to photographer mode after we finished the race. Consequently, we feel that we have no obligations to capture a photograph of every participant in the race. However, we do try our very best to capture as many participants as possible. But this is sometimes not possible for a variety of reasons:
►You were hidden behind another participant as you passed our camera
►Weather or lighting conditions meant that we had some photographs with blurry content which we did not upload to our Flickr set
►There were too many people - some races attract thousands of participants and as amateur photographs we cannot hope to capture photographs of everyone
►We simply missed you - sorry about that - we did our best!
You can email us petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com to enquire if we have a photograph of you which didn't make the final Flickr selection for the race. But we cannot promise that there will be photograph there. This is a photograph from the 2nd Annual Rock 'n' Roll Dublin Half Marathon which was held in Dublin, Ireland on Monday 4th August 2014 at 08:30. The Rock 'n' Roll Dublin Half Marathon also incorporated the Athletics Association of Ireland (AAI) National Half Marathon Championships which was open to all eligible runners registered with an AAI affiliated athletics club. The race started in Dublin City center at North Wall Quay and Castleforbes Road on the Liffey. The route then went West out of the city bringing runners along the famous South Quays to Inchicore and then taking a slight northerly direction into the Phoenix Park. The race finished in the Phoenix Park with runners following over half of the course within the grounds of the famous park. Over 7,000 people took part. The Rock 'n' Roll Marathon series is one of the largest running series in the world with events primarily taking place in North American Cities. However, recently the franchise has spread to Europe. One of the unique aspects of the race is that every course features live bands along the course along with cheering teams of supporters at water stations. In the Phoenix Park today there was a large entertainment area at the Finish line for competitors, families and friends to enjoy.
