Not far from Two Medicine Lake is Running Eagle Falls, which was flowing pretty good when I saw it in July. When there isn't as much water the falls actually spew out of a hole in the rock. You can kind of see it about a 1/3 of the way up the falls on the right.

I ran the race - but my photograph doesn't appear here in your Flickr set!

As mentioned above we take these photographs as a hobby and as a voluntary contribution to the running community in Ireland. Very often we have actually ran in the same race and then switched to photographer mode after we finished the race. Consequently, we have no obligations to capture a photograph of every participant in the race. However, we do try our very best to capture as many participants as possible. But this is sometimes not possible for a variety of reasons:

You were hidden behind another participant as you passed our camera

Weather or lighting conditions meant that we had some photographs with blurry content which we did not upload to our Flickr set

There were too many people - some races attract thousands of participants and as amateur photographs we cannot hope to capture photographs of everyone

We simply missed you - sorry about that - we did our best!

You can email us petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com to enquire if we have a photograph of you which didn't make the final Flickr selection for the race. But we cannot promise that there will be photograph there. As alternatives we advise you to contact the race organisers to enquire if there were (1) other photographs taking photographs at the race event or if (2) there were professional commercial sports photographers taking photographs which might have some photographs of you available for purchase. You might find some links for further information above.

If you want to contribute something for these images?

We do not charge for these images. We take these photographs as our contribution to the running community in Ireland. If you feel that the image(s) you request are good enough that you would ordinarily pay for their purchase we would suggest that you can provide a donation to any of the great charities in Ireland who do work for Cancer Care or Cancer Research in Ireland.

Don't like your photograph here?

That's OK! We understand!

This is a photograph from the annual Ardagh Moydow Glen Community Games 5KM and 10 Mile road races, fun runs, walks and challenges which were held in the heritage village of Ardagh, Co. Longford, Ireland on Saturday 30th December 2017 at 13:00. This year's race featured the change from last year's race where the race seen the introduction of chip timing, a new start and finish in the middle of the village at the community center and, a slightly amended route.

We have an extensive set of photographs from the race start and the finish on our Flickr photostream set at www.flickr.com/photos/peterm7/albums/72157688852560892

The 10 mile race takes in the local 'Ardagh Mountain' which is a 1 mile continuous climb starting at the 2.5 mile mark of the 10 mile race. There is, of course, then the reward of a long down-hill stretch after the summit. The remainder of the race is The 5KM race takes a loop around the heritage village of Ardagh. Overall this is a very well organised race with accurate courses, good marshalling and traffic control and excellent after race refreshments. The 10 mile race is one of the longest road races held during the Christmas period anywhere in Ireland and has appeal to runners who want to add a longer distance race to their festive calendar of running.

The weather at this year's race was very cold and windy. The rain managed to stay away but a very cold northerly breeze certainly made conditions cold. Whatever wind advantage there was for the runners was not experienced until the second half of the race. In 2014 there was very frosty icy weather and last year in 2015 participants were given a very very windy day with heavy rain at the finish of both races. The 2016 event seen very suitable weather for road racing.

Ardagh is probably County Longford's most picturesque village with many historical and architecturally important features. It is located about 6 miles from Longford town.

This usually just mean putting a link to our photographs somewhere on your website, blog, or Facebook where other people can see it.

_____

We were having a walk through the Westminster bridge when these girls came from nowhere and starting running in the same place. At first we though they were going to cross the street (but that would be like suicide, we though) but we saw them smiling. Yeah, smiling while running without moving from its original position. So I smiled too and started to run with them. They saw me and started to cheer me up with their shining smiles.

I don't really know what moved me to start running, but they were so happy I couldn't help but feel happy too. It was a sunny day in London.

This little cownose ray was feeding on Coquina in the shallows and was left high and dry by an outgoing wave. It sputtered and flapped, but seemed to be making its way in the wrong direction! I picked it up after a few photos and tossed it back into the water, where it was again gliding by with its dozens of friends, in search of an easy meal.

This morning was the annual Cinnamon Roll Bake-off for Woodlands Fit, the local running group I am a member of. It was fun & delicious!

Just a silly one today, went running with a friend in all that snow yesterday and when we got back her husband and his Dad were grinning at us from out of the window and who can resist.

This is a photograph from the 30th annual Bohermeen AC Patrick Bell 5KM Road Race, Jog, Walk, and Fun Run which was held at Bohermeen AC, Ardbracan, Navan, Co. Meath, Ireland at 19:30 on Saturday 6th June 2015. The race was held in warm sunshine but with the presence of a very strong headwind which made running conditions difficult in places for all participants. The race commemorates Patrick Bell, the late Bohermeen clubman who died tragically in the summer of 1985 following a traffic accident, whilst returning home from Cork having competed in the National track championships. The wonderful atmosphere, the great racing and participation, the work by the club, Meath Athletics, the local community, and the long summer evening is, yet again, a fitting tribute to Patrick's memory and his contribution to Athletics in Ireland. The race also commemorates clubman Nicky Philips. Congratulations to everyone involved. Everything that is good about grassroots athletics and running in Ireland was on show in Bohermeen tonight. The race route reverted to the 2013 course as last year (2014) the course had to be changed at the last moment due to a funeral which was taking place in the area. The folks at Bohermeen AC and the local community hosted a barbeque, cook-out, and entertainment late into the night. It has earned the reputation as having one of the best after race atmospheres you are likely to find in Ireland. The race started 400m from the Bohermeen AC track and heads towards Navan. The course then makes 3 right hand turns around some beautiful rural country roads and turns back to Bohermeen AC and then back for the final kilometer which is straight to the track and the finish on about 60 meters of athletics track. Over 600 participants took part making it one of the largest 5KM races in the region

This is a set of photographs from the end of the race until about the 25 minute finish time. The full set is available at www.flickr.com/photos/peterm7/sets/72157651804660314
