One of my personal favorite black and white images taken in 2017,
hope some of my friends in Flickr will agree that, "you only look at a colour picture, you read a black&white image".
Runners at the bottom of Jenkin hill heading towards Latrigg Car Park and perhaps onwards to Keswick?
And you run and you run to catch up with the sun, but it’s sinking
And racing around to come up behind you again
The sun is the same in the relative way, but you’re older
Shorter of breath and one day closer to death

86. Transport in motion
The two men were running completely synchronized, and a bit off the ground. Reminded me a lot of old Tintin cartoons.
On a recent long walk down the Regent's Canal from Camden to Bethnal Green I took a lot of pictures. I've arranged them in series that I want to be seen together - I'm not posting to my usual groups because the daily upload limits and the commenting obligations make it just too onerous. If you want to see them, you have to come here :-)

As I was ambling down the Pyg track looking for photos to take, these two guys ran past me - they had RUN up Snowdon and were now running back down it! I managed to control my amazement long enough to get a shot off.
Taken in Glacier Park's Two Medicine area. Also known as "Trick Falls." Rising Wolf Mountain stands tall in the bg.
"This one is really two falls in one. During high water, the water leaps from the top shelf, hiding a second hidden falls that roars out of a cave half way down. At lower flows, water only gushes out from the cave leaving the top dry. However, at any water level this is a phenomenal place to be. As you approach the falls, notice the unusual warping of the surrounding sedimentary rocks. This formation is from the unusual action of older rocks sliding over younger rocks which is common in and around Glacier National Park."
"This falls is named after Running Eagle (Pitamakan), a Blackfoot tribeswoman who lived around 1825. As the story goes, she gravitated to the skills of a Blackfoot warrior. She became a great hunter and was incredibly brave in the face of her tribes’ enemies. At one point, Running Eagle was instructed by the village elders to go on a vision quest in order to find her true calling. It is said that she went on this quest near the falls. Running eagle was able to tell of her adventures in the Medicine Lodge ceremonies while also becoming a member of the Braves Society of young warriors. She continued to lead successfully war and hunting parties until she died in a battle against a party of Flatheads near the Sun River."
Best when Viewed LARGE On Black
This guy was interesting. I was on the little bridge down by Castlefield and it was covered in sand - this guy skidded down it using it as a slide, and I expressed surprise. He said it was the best one for it, he then proceeded to run and then jump over the railings to continue his run. His clothing is unusual too, I've never seen anyone running in clothing like this.

Joined fellow members of my local camera club on a photo walk in Melbourne today. The aim was to capture images of interesting places and people around the city.

I tried to take a photo of a pheasant but every time they run a way, this time I was ready to move my camera with it speed and I get a beautiful shot where the background looks moving and the Pheasant it self is still.

You are born on the most frigid, desolate days of winter. Furless and about the size of a grapefruit, you snuggle next to mom for warmth. She may not even be aware that you have been born. You nurse and grow until it is time to emerge from the den. Mom is everything. She protects and feeds you. She teaches you to fear even other bears, for they might harm you. At the slightest provocation she encourages you to climb the nearest tree for safety. For a year and a half she is everything. She is your entire world. Mom is the only thing you trust and love. She teaches you what’s good to eat and what to avoid. She makes certain you are safely tucked away if she must go out for food, and always returns for you. She rewards you when you are good and scolds you when you don’t listen. Suddenly, at about a year and a half mom turns on you. It happens without provocation. Not only isn’t she loving and protective, she is downright dangerous. She chases you the way she has always chased other bears. Your world suddenly implodes. You are alone. Perhaps you have a sibling to keep you company but the most sacred trust, that between a mother and a child, has been broken. All older bears will chase you and now your knight in shining armor does the same. It is time to trust nothing and fear everything, you are running scared. Such is the life of every bear cub. #BlackBearCubs
