A female Ruddy Duck is running across the waters along with twenty or so other members of the flock. A male is in the background.
They are in a period of flightless molt and the runs occur several times an hour sometimes sending other species of nearby rafting ducks into a flight panic. I think the runs maintain the strength of the Ruddy's wing muscles.

one of my favorite things about this time of year is how the light and shadows are so incredible that they transform even the dreaded morning walk to work into something magical
So funny, he loves the chase, I was throwing the ball down the backyard and readying the camera for when he runs back, I threw it the last time and missed where it went, he searched and searched and I searched too, it's probably deep in the garden somewhere haha
The 140 Vintage Running Day on 23rd November 2019 commemorated the service of route 140 to Heathrow Airport, with RTs, RMs and Ms running the full route from Heathrow up to Harrow Weald, Bus Garage. Some journeys even continued along the old 140 route to Mill Hill (which is now the 114).
The weather was typically wintry: dark and wet, but nonetheless the day offered the potential for a number of unique photos.
Routemaster RM397 397CLT is seen on Bath Road, Heathrow North heading for Harrow Weald. Behind is London United Volvo B5LH / Wright Gemini 3 VH45271 LF18AXA on route 105, another historic airport connection.

Just a couple more of these amazing shiny tights. I've found taking photos on my phone tends to de-empahsize the shine, as it tries to do HDR and make everything semi-even brightness. But here, these taken from a video, you can really see it shine!
The London Bus Museum's RF395 (MXX283) stands at Crystal Palace with the fantastic Peter Osbourn at the wheel having run in on the 1610 227 from Bromley North, the last service of the day.
Taken on 9th December 2018 at the Country Bus Rallies Bromley Bus Running Day 2018, where there were 5 RFs on the 227 between Bromley Garage, Bromley North, Penge and Crystal Palace, 2 RTs and an RM on the 94 between Bromley Garage, Bromley North and Petts Wood plus a few other routes (126/162 with 253, a Metrobus Dart and 314 with DT29).
Running over 2 hours late, 66736 passes the 7 miles from Edinburgh milepost on the approach to Inveresk with 6S49. This is the Tyne Yard - Millerhill Departmental working and is seen at 1641 on the 1st May 2015
