1919 Burrell Gold Medal Tractor No. 3808 "Laddie" (AH 570) at the Little Town Farm Shop after the 2023 Road run organised by the Lancashire Traction Engine Club.
The Stour Valley Path is a 100km (62 mile) long footpath in England, which starts in Newmarket (Suffolk) and ends in Cattawade, a village near Manningtree (Essex). The SVP100 covers almost the entire length of the well marked trail, and is one of the longest point to point races in East Anglia.
While visiting a buddy of mine down in Antwerp last summer, the organized a Triathlon through the city. The course of the running part went through his street. So while stuffing our faces with food, we watched all of them go by.. Pretty tiring though, jeezz..

So sad... It looks like this juvenile Bobcat was a victim of a hit and run incident. This took place passed St Johns Rivers on the main road heading towards (MINWR) Merritt Island, FL. I got out and dropped to the road on my tummy to get this shot. And yes, a bit nutty considering it's a main road/hwy oncoming traffic, but I managed to not become road kill myself. Here's the shot I caught with my Sigma 150-500mm lens. I didn't have time to switch lenses.

This is a photograph from the annual "Good2Talk" Rathowen 5KM Road Race and Fun Run which was held in Rathowen Village, Co. Westmeath, Ireland on Wednesday 11th June 2014 at 20:00. There was a turn-out of over 150 people for the race which took place on a wonderfully warm, calm summer's evening. Registration took place in St Mary’s Hall Rathowen where refreshments were also served after the race. The race was a fund-raiser for Good 2 Talk. Good 2 Talk is a counselling therapy clinic based in Mullingar, Co. Westmeath, Ireland. They offer counselling and therapy at affordable costs. The race is held as a fund-raiser to help Good 2 Talk to continue offering these vital counselling services to the people in this region of the Midlands. The race started 1KM west of Rathowen Village on the N4. The race then proeeded eastwards through the Village and then took at left at 1KM outside the village towards Abbeylara. The race then follows a small boreen road (L5926) back to the finish in Rathowen Village.

Very often we have actually ran in the same race and then switched to photographer mode after we finished the race. Consequently, we feel that we have no obligations to capture a photograph of every participant in the race. However, we do try our very best to capture as many participants as possible. But this is sometimes not possible for a variety of reasons:
►You were hidden behind another participant as you passed our camera
►Weather or lighting conditions meant that we had some photographs with blurry content which we did not upload to our Flickr set
►There were too many people - some races attract thousands of participants and as amateur photographs we cannot hope to capture photographs of everyone
►We simply missed you - sorry about that - we did our best!

But we cannot promise that there will be photograph there. The orb surrounds James as he walks away. You can see the back of my head as I talk to Lyd and Kate.
The image was taken in 29K magnification by a Tecani F20 Transimision Electron Microscopy. The Au nanopartical looks like a run peole in the micro-word and I am very fond of this image. It make me feel the micro-word is full of magic power.

The Lidl Run Kildare Events 2013 were held at the Curragh Racecourse, Newbridge, Co. Kildare, Ireland on Sunday 12th May 2013. There were three events: a 10KM, a half marathon, and a full marathon. This is a selection of photographs which includes all events. The photographs are taken from the start and finish of the marathon, the finish of the 10KM, and the finish of the half marathon. Due to the large numbers participating we did not manage to photograph everyone - which was not helped by the weather. Congratulations to Jo Cawley and her RunKildare crew for another great event. The weather didn't dampen the spirits of the many happy participants.

Overall Race Summary
Participants: There were approximately 3,000 participants over the 3 race events - there were runners, joggers, and walkers participating.
Weather: A cold breezy morning with heavy rain at the start. The weather dried up for the 10KM and the Half Marathon races
Course: This is an undulating course with some good flat stretches on the Curragh.

A Bronzed Tiger Beetle (Cicindela repanda) choosing to RUN for once, rather than FLY away.
I went looking for Tiger Beetles again early this morning. I wasn't sure what I'd find after all the rain and moisture. In fact it was raining pretty hard on my way to the beach.
As it turns out, for whatever reason, the conditions for spotting these elusive critters was perfect. The skies had just cleared, and the sand was hardened from the earlier rain. For some reason they were everywhere, with one taking flight almost every step I took. Even with their numbers, they were very shy and most of my shots are from behind.
