The 2022 Great Ethiopian Run international 10km race was held in Addis Ababa with the lead message 'every child learns' on world children's day. 41,000 people participated in the race. Brooks Run in Elk State Forest, Cameron County PA. The stream cascades down steeply through hemlock ( at least for now) shaded hollow before it empties into the First Fork of Sinnemahoning Creek. The hemlocks along Brooks Run are badly infested with hemlock wooly adelgid (mainly at lower elevations) and many are starting to turn brown and look quite unhealthy. It seemed like every tree I checked along Brooks Run Road had at least some HWA infestation. Very sad sight to see.
The Nostalgia Nationals may have been rained off..........but this little guy seemed happy enough.
The shoot was originally for Custom Car magazine, but due to the lack of racing, ended up being used by the track owners for a future advertising poster.

We hosted our very first 5K run in the Virginia District on June 4th to celebrate the National Park Service Centennial and the results are in! While we congratulate all of the run participants, a special shout out goes to our first place finishers! Jonathan Gonzalez was able to break the 20 minute mark with a time of 19:40. Beth Coulman was our fastest female with a finishing time of 24:15.
We were thrilled to have such a great turnout of people who ranged from marathon runners to families crossing the finish line hand in hand. We all have our way to connect with this amazing island and on Saturday this group of energetic fans of fitness found their park on Assateague! (Photos: Krystina Carpenter)

The Lidl Run Kildare Events 2013 were held at the Curragh Racecourse, Newbridge, Co. Kildare, Ireland on Sunday 12th May 2013. There were three events: a 10KM, a half marathon, and a full marathon. This is a selection of photographs which includes all events. The photographs are taken from the start and finish of the marathon, the finish of the 10KM, and the finish of the half marathon. Due to the large numbers participating we did not manage to photograph everyone - which was not helped by the weather. Congratulations to Jo Cawley and her RunKildare crew for another great event. The weather didn't dampen the spirits of the many happy participants.

Overall Race Summary
Participants: There were approximately 3,000 participants over the 3 race events - there were runners, joggers, and walkers participating.
Weather: A cold breezy morning with heavy rain at the start. The weather dried up for the 10KM and the Half Marathon races
Course: This is an undulating course with some good flat stretches on the Curragh.

Very often we have actually ran in the same race and then switched to photographer mode after we finished the race. Consequently, we feel that we have no obligations to capture a photograph of every participant in the race. However, we do try our very best to capture as many participants as possible. But this is sometimes not possible for a variety of reasons:
►You were hidden behind another participant as you passed our camera
►Weather or lighting conditions meant that we had some photographs with blurry content which we did not upload to our Flickr set
►There were too many people - some races attract thousands of participants and as amateur photographs we cannot hope to capture photographs of everyone
►We simply missed you - sorry about that - we did our best!
You can email us petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com to enquire if we have a photograph of you which didn't make the final Flickr selection for the race. But we cannot promise that there will be photograph there. This is a photograph is from a set of photographs of the Celbridge AC Ray Crofton Kia 5KM Road Race and Fun Run which was held at Celbridge AC running track, Clane Road, Celbridge, Co. Kildare, Ireland on Sunday 16th August 2015 at 10:30. The 5KM route today is a new revised route for 2015 making it different to the successful 5KM race held annually by the club in the past.
The race started on the Clane Road outside the Celbridge AC grounds and proceeded on a left-handed loop which took participants close to Celbridge mainstreet before taking a left turn westwards to return back to the Clane Road and the grounds of Saint Wolstan's Community School and North Kildare Educate Together. The final 600meters of the race were held on the beautifully manicured grass track of Celbridge AC. The race was held in beautiful summer weather with temperatures of around 16C making very favourable and pleasant conditions for participants. There was excellent marshalling and route layout with stewards on all junctions to ensure safe traffic management. Refreshments were served after the race where many participants enjoyed the morning sunshine and sat down on the grass around the track to talk and review the race. The race also marked a significant milestone for Celbridge AC who are celebrating 50 years as an athletic club. A family and community fun day was planned for after the race to make the 50th anniversary celebrations. Celbridge is a small town on the banks of the River Liffey and is only a short distance from the county border line with Dublin. The proximity to Dublin sees Celbridge boast a large population and the race today reflected this with a very large number of local athletes taking part from the 295 participants.
