I was strolling around Miami Beach looking for art deco shots, but the distant thunder was rumbling and the light wasn't the best for architecture - so I wandered over to the actual beach. I kept expecting the clouds to either part and the day to become super sunny, or the bottom to fall out and get instantly drenched. Neither happened and after a while, people just started showing up at the beach and acting as if it was a normal day.

Arizona Central Railway GP7u 2164, GP7 2279, GP9 3413, and GP26 2602 wake up the small town of Perkinsville, AZ, as they pull cement loads toward the BNSF interchange in Drake, AZ.
Not the best day to be stood out on an exposed moor with thunder and lightning about. Once I feel the hair on the back of my neck stand up I know it’s time to go.

River Devon & Rumbling Bridge Gorge
This is two bridges - the older one below the newer one. The older bridge, was built in 1713. The newer bridge was built in 1816. The older bridge was not suitable for wheeled traffic.

Just like a nicely weathered model railway set, ZSSK Cargo's rusty blue Bardotka is rolling in the picturesque valley of the Laborec river near Čabiny, with 4 wood-loaded open wagons.
Taken at Loktak Lake where you can watch and hear a rumbling thunderstorm roll in and out, and in again. So tranquil. Go and see!

Having missed the georgous conditions on Saturday morning we had a beautifully atmospheric dog walk through Rumbling Bridge gorge this evening.

Named presumably from the sund of the incoming tides shifting the rocks - a magical name for a magical place.
The rocks here are Carboniferous limestones, shales and sandstones - tides were coming in and out here over 300ma ago
Some of the most dramatic and awe-inspiring sunsets happen in Thailand! This had been a long day at the beach, walking from Parakang Cape to Bang Niang, while listening to the wind, the calming and unrelenting breaking of waves and the closing in rumbling of a thunderstorm to the West creating the perfect setting for this tropical paradise.

Was awakened at 5:30am by this natural gas explosion about 12 miles away. The whole house was rumbling. It made an interesting sunrise show. Unfortunately 2 people died and one severly burned. View from my home in Casa Grande, AZ. Aug. 2021

it's so overrated
After a week of gale force winds and heavy rain, I am very surprised our cosmos has survived and that there are even still flowers in our garden. It was lovely to get outside without having to hang onto something, lol, or get pummeled with leaves and rain. But hang on ... I hear thunder rumbling around! Perhaps it's just someone moving the furniture up there :D

Rumbling through Angus, MN a pair of Santa Fe Dash 9's have the Noyes to Grand Forks train as they finally have a little sun hit them.
When I went on holiday the weather was not nice, but at least I manage to catch lightning first night that struck the sea, not far from where I was. You can only imagine the sound that came after the scene from the photo ... the earth literally shook!

CN 5489 and GECX 9149 lead a lengthy X349 across the all-steel Missabe bridge over the Nemadji River near Saunders on February 21, 2018. The day is almost done for this crew as they swap crews just ahead at Pokegama. The outbound crew will add helpers to help lift the 167 car train out of the Twin Ports and take this X349 the rest of the way up the former Missabe and Peg towards Canada.
