A few of many from the chaos last night. Shot from the bedroom and loft window. This is looking South towards Lichfield/Cannock and Cheadle. It took around 45mins for it to reach us and it was then bedlam! I was taking 1sec exposures and the sky was blowing out!
As I type now there is another storm on the way :)
All triggered using the MIOPS set to Lightning mode... brilliant piece of kit...
As the storm started building, the thunder rumbling overhead, and the sun was setting.
Giving the Z6iii a workout with long exposures. This one was with an ND filter and a 30 second exposure.
Rumbling out of the river flats, CP 140 heads east in Norfolk Southernās Detroit District Line at MP D56.0, with a freshly rebuilt GE AC44CWM No.8029 leading.
There is no rumbling to be heard as DMIR 406 crosses over the stout former Duluth Missabe and Northern (DM&N) concrete bridge. This bridge gets plenty of tonnage in a day as this is the CN Iron Range sub used to get to and from Two Harbors, MN with the taconite pellets from the mines and the returning empties. This is a short local with four loads and one buffer car going to serve a blasting company.
A walk in the February sunshine, 07-02-18. Rumbling over the bridge is an unidentified Trans Pennine Express class 185 on it's way to Hull.
Thunder rumbling all afternoon, and hopefully, the scattered rain squalls putting the local wildfire out and clearing the air!

CN 2319 and another GEVO on the rear bring this long maritime container train northbound on CN's Superior subdivision. I think this train was Q199 or something, I don't remember. Taken between Eldes Corner and Esko, MN on 3/23/22.
The 12:00 New Hope & Ivyland Santa train rolls through the woods of Bucks County nearing it's destination of Lahasa, PA behind 2-8-0 #40.
Several hours earlier 37611 Denise had been declared a failure having limped into the tamper sidings at Nuneaton heading 5Q65 conveying 730024 to Oxley; 37510 Orion was duly despatched from Leicester as 1Z99 and took the stricken tractor forwards as 5Q66 seen here rumbling through Water Orton, the sun having long set.
Just as we left GraƱon, we heard some rumbling noise that got stronger and stronger. It turned out that a huge "army" of pilgrims was coming after us, singing along the way. There were children, adults and old people among them. But we didn't want to spend the rest of the day in this noise so I checked the map and we took an alternative route. This is how we got to the remote village of Villarta, where there were hardly any people but the bar was open. The few people we did meet in the street all asked us if we were lost as their village is not on the official route. Then we frossed a hill and returned to the Camino at the village of Redecilla.
A scene reminiscent of Tolkien with tree roots, branches and trunk lit by filtered sun alongside Pingle Lane, an ancient way from Johnnygate to the ford at Millthorpe on the edge of the Peak District in North East Derbyshire.
High in the Tantalus Range, Mount Alpha and the Rumbling Glacier reflect the golden light of a summer sunrise. Photographed during a three day alpine climbing trip, spanning the heights of this rugged and beautiful range northwest of Squamish, BC.

Rumbling through through Bloomer, WI on a fragment of what was Chicago & North Westernās Eau Claire to Itasca mainline, Wisconsin Northernās L2 heads south. A decent cut of sand loads from Piranha Proppant in New Auburn follows the trio of Minneapolis, Northfield & Southern inspired EMDs past classic grain elevator and station sign. Behind the sand loads are a mix of cars from other customers L2 serviced this day, ABC Truss, Badger Recovery, and Stella-Jones/McFarland Cascade. One more customer remains for the today, the PGR Transload facility on the south side of Bloomer.
you give yourself a little pep-talk. you can hear the engines rumbling underneath you and up through the concrete. that smell of gasoline and the sweat that rolls down your forehead. the flag goes up, and you tear out onto the track, screeching tires all around you. the number 9 car is right on your tail, drafting, while the UPS car is trying to put you into the wall.
and then you realize all of a sudden that it's the last lap and you need to push for first. turns out the person in first is your little brother. turns out he won't let you forget that he beat you.
man, go-carts really does bring out the kid in you. (:
great day today, beach, go-carts, home, hopefully some sleep. i hope everyone's day was as a good as mine.
goodnight and God bless.
Rumbling through Tame Bridge Parkway, 60019 leads a special 6Z52 Wolverhampton Steel Terminal to Margam TC.
Despite some normal WTT paths being in for this working, they seldom run anymore. This STP working was the first Wolverhampton to South Wales steel in many years.
It was the time I was going to bed after a long day but once I heard the thunder storm, I jumped out of my bed and set up my camera and there came this shot!
Rumbling 251s fill the damp air as Delaware Lackawanna's PT98 rumbles through Tobyhanna on its way to the NS interchange in Slateford. Like many of the old DL&W depots on this route, the Tobyhanna depot is nicely maintained and serves as a public rest area and restaurant.

On Saturday there were rumblings of a wandering black bear roaming through the city of Madison. These types of sightings are pretty common for southern Wisconsin so I didn't think much of it. I heard later in the day that it was only a few blocks from my house and I ended up finding it perched in a tree getting ready to nap. There were may 4 other local people there with binoculars looking at it before I left.
Keeping my camera steady was difficult with the ground rumbling beneath my feet and the blast of the wind created by this speeding locomotive! Breathtaking!

CN 120 is eastbound rumbling through Folly Lake, Nova Scotia. It was just after daylight so light wasnt the greatest. Had to improvise for a decent photo.

Well, it took a while, but my foxy pals offspring are slowly getting used to coming out in the daylight, all be it twilight! š£ They were frolicking around before I got my camera out, but despite being 30 feet away and hiding behind my back door and shooting through my fly netting, they are still a little skittish, so the sound of the camera shutter clicking startled them, however the rumblings in the tummy seem to over ride any fear of me getting them, all be it for a few very brief seconds! So whilst two ran away, this one stayed for a few seconds before also legging it into the gloom! Hopefully I'll manage to capture a decent image before the nights draw in and the evening light gets worse, otherwise I'll have to start all over again next year!!!.:(
Have a Fabulous Thursday Y'all..:)
The Douglas A-26 Invader taxiing at Duxford, its powerful Pratt & Whitney Double Wasp engines rumbling across the airfield. Designed as a fast, hard-hitting light bomber, the A-26 entered combat in 1944 and quickly proved its worth in low-level strikes and precision attacks. After WWII, it was redesignated the B-26 (not to be confused with the Martin Marauder) and went on to serve in Korea, flying dangerous interdiction missions at night. Remarkably, the Invaderās story didnāt end there ā updated versions, called the āCounter-Invader,ā were still flying combat missions in Vietnam. Few aircraft have served across three wars with such success, making the sight of one today at Duxford something very special.

A foggy notion today, a legacy in my mind
sharing my room, consuming my mood
like rumbling guitars rolling on the horizon
upside down tears fall, afraid to intrude
taking it easy on the unknown pathway
a wreathed sky wrestles light and leeway
when we give ourself back...to ourselves
we feel the embrace of memory and possibility
abandon the you within you; me within me
now into one another we speak of responsibility
you have gone, as far as I can see, within me
into the unknown you, I find myself, the returnee
and it's just my coaptation, just is just in setting Sun
scarved by the divinity of gently retiring clouds
their life's work stretches the horizon beyond imagination
in reverse found forward thinking shrouds
take it all in, consume temptation together with fate
love it for all it's worth, let yourself go and conjugate
yes, I want to feel nothing like before, only this-
moment beyond waking hours, dream upon dream
the worship of retreating into the eyeopening vista of entirity
somewhere becomes everywhere in the unknown's highest esteem
I'm gone, way beyond pretence, into the weave of light
every stitch encapsulates a thread of life of sovereign invite
one minute here the next is forever into the super unknown
trust is sweet within the rich ingredient of the sublime nature
taste but enough as lust will fill more than enough emptiness
deep inside the thesaurus of wanting ways to describe the candidature-
of emotion, of feeling, of hurts upon the reality of earthen slight
now, one figure will suffice in the mirror of the as yet unknown delight.
