I heard it fall beside me,only seconds out of the nest in a Red Pine, only a few feet from my trailer door. I believe the flowers broke its fall. Truly one of natures gems!
As I was standing on a culvert that separates two lagoons in our local marsh, I was attempting to capture some young Yellowthroats. I heard and felt the rapid beat of a hummingbirds wings about five inches from my back! As I turned she flew about twelve feet away from me with the sun at my back! Isn#t she sweet!
I spent a few hours in my back yard flower garden this past Sunday July 29th trying to photograph the hummingbirds feeding there. It took an hour or so for them to get familiar with me and then a few of the braver ones hovered into camera range while feeding. It was a beautiful summer day and the light was wonderful. Here are a few of my favorites from our little photo shoot
