Route Bus DBY 305 works the cruise terminal service 198 on 4th April, 2008. This bus was new to London Transport as SMS244 (EGN 244J).
Pacific Southwest Airlines (PSA) routes from a 28 October 1987 timetable.
PSA operated 60 aircraft, including 31 MD-80s and 25 BAe-146s, on 28 October 1987, Flight Fleets Analyzer shows.
Part of the Centenary celebrations & Year of the bus events saw Catford open its doors to the public for an open day, part of this saw route 54 partially covered from Catford - Elmers End using heritage vehicles.Here is RM2060 at the fairly new bus station at Elmers End. May 2014.

E138 saw out its London days on route 474, 7th November 2025. The following month it was one of thirty-seven Go-Ahead London buses (both double and single deck) to be transferred to Go-Ahead South West with another twenty three to follow. From February 2026 Go-Ahead South West will be operating in Cornwall following First Kernow withdrawing their services.

Old ways are always the best. This seat must have recently suffered some horrible fate. Curiously, when the seat was reupholstered with new moquette material, they used the older style moquette, which I greatly prefer!
The GBRf route learner between Doncaster and Toton is formed of 47815 Great Western and is seen here heading back north along the Erewash Valley at Sandiacre having just done a quick turn round at Toton, 8th July 2014.
Locomotive History
47815 was originally D1748 and was built at Brush, Loughborough, entering traffic in the July 1964, allocated to Landore. It transferred to Bristol in February 1965 and then October 1967 to the London Midland Region where it alternated on a regular basis between the Stoke Division (Crewe) and the Birmingham Division (Bescot) until it transferred to Stratford in November 1972. In January 1976 47155 was loaned (minus bogies and buffers) to the Central Electricity Generating Board at West Thurrock Power Station to temporally replace part of the power station electrical equipment which was under repair returning to traffic four months later. After eleven years at Stratford it transferred to Cardiff in May 1984 followed by in September 1984 and Bristol in May 1986. In September 1986 it was one of the last class 47’s to be fitted with electric train heating and emerged from Crewe works as 47660, allocated to Gateshead. This was followed by spells at Eastfield and Bristol when in August 1989 it was fitted with twin fuel tanks and renumbered 47815. In October 1996 it transferred to Laira and in October 1998 to Landore. In 2005 it was sold to Riviera Trains and named Great Western

Route 390 is set to become the fourth route in London to be converted to New Bus for London, with a planned date of Saturday 7th December. One month before the conversion, on Monday 4th November, Metroline's VPL593, a Volvo B7TL/Plaxton President allocated to Holloway (HT) Garage is seen heading along York Way, having just passed under the railway bridge which gives Eurostar trains (one of which can be seen in the photo) and Southern HighSpeed trains on the High Speed One line access to and from St Pancras International. The arrival of High Speed One at St Pancras in November 2008, and the restoration of St Pancras and Kings Cross Stations, has kick-started a regeneration of the area, and some of the new developments on the former Railway Lands can be seen in the background.
Route 390 is a relative newcomer to the London Bus scene, having first seen the light of day on 1st February 2003 as the replacement for the northern section of route 10 when that route went driver only, marking the beginning of the end for regular Routemaster operation in London. The 10 itself only appeared in August 1988 when the lengthy 73 was diverted away from Hammersmith to terminate at Victoria, and the section from Kings Cross to Archway was initially covered by Garage journeys only.
As introduced, the 390 was Routemaster-operated by Holloway (HT) Garage between Archway Station and Marble Arch, becoming London's last new route, and the only one numbered in the 300s, to be operated by Routemasters. It moved to a new base off York Way, Kings Cross (very close to where this photo was taken) from 29th March 2003, and the inevitable conversion to Driver-only came on 3rd September 2004. It was extended to Notting Hill Gate from 6th November 2004 to partially replace route 12 when that route was converted to bendybus operation and cut back to Oxford Circus. Since 10th July 2010 the route has been back at HT, as the base at Kings Cross moved to a new location which was unsuitable for double-deckers - it did a straight swap with the 214.

From Monday 7th July new route 25 was introduced between Central Reading and Peppard Common, replacing the northern section of route 2. It is interworked with route 22; gas-powered Scanias 430/431 have been repainted into pink from green livery and have been joined by scarlet 417, which has been released following a frequency reduction on route 9 which is paralleled by recently-introduced route 3 for much of its length. 417 is seen outside Sainsbury's in Friar Street, the Central Reading terminus, loading up for the 14.35 departure on the first day of the new service.
Route 66 is perhaps America's most famous highway. It linked downtown Chicago to the Santa Monica Pier in California and is often referred to as "The Mother Road." It helped usher in the era of modern automobile transit in America.

Today, much of the fabled Route 66 has been replaced by more efficient (but somewhat sterile) Interstate highways. There are still many, however, who make a pastime of revisiting the sections of Route 66 that still exist in bits and pieces across the Midwest.
We pulled off the modern interstate in Oklahoma to change drivers last week and wound up driving this section of the old Route 66 for several miles before rejoining the interstate. It was a nostalgic few miles which hearkened back to a bygone era in America.
