The National US Route 66 Museum in Elk City, Oklahoma. Looks totally "tourist trap" from the outside, but actually is a pretty good hour spent.

Transdev York Route 20 in Haxby. This livery is gradually being phased out in favour of a blue based colour scheme in the same design principles as the other New Transdev Blazefield liveries. I personally liked the Red colour scheme matches their old Transdev London United livery!
Aboard DH38502, one of three ADL Enviro400 MMC electric buses operated by Tower Transit on route 69 as part of the ZeEUS project - see below for details. Internally these buses have been fitted with the new Lazzerini lightweight seats that made their debut on a batch of ADL 400 MMCs delivered to Reading Buses in May 2015 for their Emerald routes 5 and 6. The blue moquette is non-standard.

Route 69 passed from Stagecoach London to Tower Transit from 6th February - originally the new contract was scehduled to commence on 30th April, but it was brought forward by mutual agreement.
Scheduled type for the route will be 5-year-old ADL Enviro400s. However as a number of these are currently on loan to CT Plus for route 26 (this route changed hands on 27th February, again well ahead of the scheduled date), Tower Transit has hired in some of the ex-Stagecoach Tridents to tide them over. These should be phased out in a few weeks time as CT Plus receives its new Enviro400 City buses for the 26 and returns the Tower Transit Enviros to their owner.
Adding to the mix are the three "ZeEUS" electric buses - these are ADL Enviro400 MMC electric buses which have been adapted so they can be charged at each end as they lay over - route 69 was selected as it terminates at Transport for London bus stations at each end, and a special charging pad has been provided within Canning Town and Walthamstow Central Bus Stations. The pads are not live, and can only be activated by pressing a button in the driver's cab when the bus is parked in the correct position. Each bus has a small diesel engine generator as a back-up, but the aim is to operate for 80% or more of the time in full electric mode.
ZeEUS stands for Zero Emission Urban (bus) System, and is a Europe-wide initiative to develop and promote innovative solutions to providing fully-electric urban bus services. Originally intended for Stagecoach, the vehicles were diverted to Tower Transit given the impending contract change, and entered service on a supplementary schedule from mid-November 2015. From 9th April a new timetable came into force without the supplementary journeys; now the ZeEUS buses operate designated journeys in the regular timetabe, when available.
Currently located outside of the Missouri History Museum, this historic route 66 motel sign beckons visitors to the "Route 66 ; Main Street Through St Louis " exhibit. Local route 66 artifacts, photographs, and a short film, details of well known route 66 motels in the St Louis region, theaters, music, and of course fast food and drive-ins are some of the excellent displays featured. So sad to see derelict places like this on Route 66. I think the film Cars told the story best. All of the old towns are now by-passed by the interstate and end up like this. I believe some are being regenerated.

But finally it's here. The legendary Route 66 connecting Chocago and Los Angeles, traversing wild deserts of Arizona.

ROUTE 66 – LA MYTHIQUE
Construite entre 1926 et 1937 afin de relier l’Ouest - encore très peu connu -, elle fut la première route transcontinentale goudronnée en Amérique, reliant Chicago (Illinois) à Santa Monica (Californie)
Longue de 3 945 km, elle traverse 3 fuseaux horaires et 8 états d’Est en Ouest.
Élevée au rang de route mythique, la célèbre Route 66 est devenue le symbole de toute une génération d’Américains épris de changement, de liberté et de voyages.
Elle a apporté un développement sans précédent dans toutes les petites communes qui la bordaient et fait la –modeste – fortune de milliers d’Américains. Des artistes l’ont célébrée, immortalisée en chansons, films, textes et tableaux.
Victime du Federal Aid Highway Act (1956), qui lança la construction massive de tout un système d’autoroutes à travers les Etats-Unis et officiellement déclassée le 27 juin 1985 puis retirée des cartes routières nationales, The Mother Road a perdu de sa superbe.
Aujourd’hui de grandes portions sont impraticables, mal entretenues et de nombreux lieux sont désormais délabrés, à l’abandon.

Due to the closure of Fleet St. between Westmoreland St. and D'Olier St. for Luas Cross City related works, Route 68 had its terminus moved from Fleet St. to Stop 4494 on Hawkins Street over the weekend of March 25th/26th.
