Thought I was buying local rootbeer . . . instead, it was a lo-cal root beer. In other words, lo-sugar and lo-taste. Booo!
Brand - Bundaberg
Origin - Australia
Bought - Waitrose Comely Bank
Price - £3.69 for 4 bottles
Taste - very traditional dandelion and burdock notes. use of sugar cane instead of sweeteners leaves quite a sticky residue on the mouth.

This is a black Pontiac Tempest LeMans which, as it was explained to me, was the last year of the Tempest. The following year Pontiac continued with the LeMans name. The red car in the reflection is most likely a GTO.

Root Beer Float Cupcake
This week was my TFSG Michelle's birthday. Birthdays mean a meeting of the Supper Models... This time we decided to have a desert monsters theme alongside the appetizer meal. this must all sound like such gibberish to everyone, so I'll just describe the picture: Michelle's birthday root beer float cupcakes. Root beer cupcake with root beer icing and vanilla bean "icecream" icing.

I grew up enjoying rootbeer popsicles but you never see them anymore! Took them over the edge so I turned them into rootbeer floats. Easy & delicious: www.suziethefoodie.com/rootbeer-float-popsicles/
See the thin cracks running through the top... And the edges are *extremely* sharp - must be sanded.
Cut using a bucket of water (sink or bathtub would work too), nail polish remover (the acetone type), string or yarn, and a lighter or matches.
There are videos on YouTube.com - but for a quick run through, here's how we did this:
1) gather your supplies.
2) wrap string around bottle 5-6 times and tie in a knot.
3) slip off and soak in acetone.
4) slide the string back onto the bottle about where you'd like it to break.
5) holding vertical over your water source, light the string.
-- be careful, if you have acetone on the bottle (drips) or on your hands, they'll flash with flame too.
6) continually turn bottle to keep flame even all around.
7) when flame starts to die out, submerge in water.
If everything goes correctly, it will crack apart.
I did this 3 times before we finally got it to work - the first 2 times I don't think we had enough string wrapped around the bottle.
Here's a piece of jewelry that's perfect for summer and can be worn as either a necklace or an anklet.
This necklace is crocheted from white hemp cord, strung with brown and cream colored beads and a matching shell. At the center is a swirl-shaped shell bead, on either side of that are two large wood discs, there are four small round wood beads, two cream colored beads with a black moon and star design (I think these may be bone, but they could also be plastic- they weren't marked), and two cream colored and two brown colored plastic pony beads.
The entire necklace is about 41" (104.1 cm) long (including extra cord to tie with where it isn't crocheted), but the crocheted, thicker part is about 22" (55.9 cm). You tie the necklace in the back, so it can fit any size neck, and can be worn tighter or looser (personally I usually wear this style as a choker).
