When I told Trish I wanted to play spin the bottle, I did NOT expect my weird wigged clone to want to play, too!
At this 50's inspired themed Bat-Mitzvah, Jukebox centerpieces sat atop the tables, with clusters of balloons and a mylar musical note helium filled balloon, floated above the centerpiece. This RI Bat-Mitzvah, by Gold Events was held at Temple Emanu-el in Providence, RI, just south of the Boston, MA area.
Along with the centerpieces each Kosher food station, was beautifully catered to the theme of the 50's. With signs for each food station of Pizza, burgers, fries, and hot dogs, the guests enjoyed this 50's inspired theme.
Tables were adorned with neon colored linens and napkins, with the kids table having an arch of clear Linc-O-Loon balloons, going from a giant hairspray bottle to a blue haired centerpiece.
Guests were also treated to a soda fountain, complete with milk shakes, , rootbeer floats, and cabinets ( a real RI treat!)
The bar area had a sign made with rope lighting. The sign-in board, was made with real record albums, and the guests signed with silver sharpies.
guests were asked to dress for the theme, and everyone rocked out to 5o's tunes. Even the photographer wore jeans, a leather jacket and slicked back hair! it was great!

Beer Drinker. Myra is chugging on her IBC root beer at Applebee's. Papa would say she's drinking like a true "longnecker."

rootbeer liqueur showdown
Update: These two may say root beer liqueur, but are very different products and I love them both. I recommend both of them on the rocks or straight. Neither is harsh.
Blackmaker: Sweet with a flavor like liquified root beer barrel candies. This is a crowd pleaser. I carried it in my flask last weekend and people were coming back for more after their initial taste.
Root: Think root beer for grizzled old men. Almost dry with deep, rich, natural flavors. I haven't had anyone else try it yet, but Christina and I both enjoy it.
This is one of my favorite photos I have ever taken. My fiancée and I will occasionally buy root beer bottles, not cans, and keep the caps in a jar as a momento. This is a shot looking into the jar, which I then desaturated in photoshop.
