I think someone Photoshopped me in this picture. Shot taken a long time ago...recently realized it was never shared outside my Facebook friends. It's a lazy blog day.
Read about the rooftopping photo that changed everything from Tom's perspective and Jen's perspective.
More of my shots from above. Press "L".
This is another image from this past weekend. I noticed the clouds clearing where the tail end of the milky way was, so I switched from star trails to turning my camera around to capture the milky way. It was much more vibrant during that night due to the new moon.

Taking my New Stache 5+ for a first ride on the pump track as a way of capturing some great storm clouds. Yeah I know, it's best not to ride when the track is wet.

The teacher stands in front of the class
But the lesson plan he can't recall
The student's eyes don't perceive the lies
Bouncing off every fucking wall
His composure is well kept
I guess he fears playing the fool
The complacent students sit and listen to some of that
Bullshit that he learned in school

This shot highlight s shooting star over an alpine meadow in Ukiah, OR, along with the northern portion of our Milky Way and the Andromeda galaxy. Photo taken in latye winter of 2014 in an alpine meadow near Ukiah, OR. The background consists of three shots taken over 25 seconds at ISO 10,000 and the foreground consists of one shot taken just as a 25% illuminated moon rose over the horizon behind the camera. In retrospect the shots should have been about 10 seconds in duration to get better star resolution, but it turned out to not be so bad.
Taken from Shirley's Bay park in Ottawa, Ontario.
Shot with a Nikon D780 and a Rokinon 14mm F/2.8. Wide open at ISO6400 4s.
From 2:12AM to 3:45AM.
Pre-dawn on Long Beach Island.
Planning to go back here to capture the early morning Milky Way during the new moon.
The ballroom at Lee Plaza has literally been "shot to death", but I had never been to this site and remembered seeing the many stunning images from this place from back in the day. I still think it is beautiful. Like the iconic shot at Farwell, the image of the grand piano in various states of decay and destruction is one that will live in urbex infamy.
Nice colors after sundown on the Bass River Marsh.

Part of a house we designed in 2002.
This was in an addition in 2008.
The ocean is visible just above the pool table.
The return to one of my favorite rooftops was a brief but sweet one. After months of begging and pleading, I decided to grant one of my friends an early Christmas present by taking her up on her first rooftop. Now that Christmas in July is over, I can continue to hoard these spots along with my fellow rooftopping colleagues. Cooler in large.

When I look at it this way, we're just a bunch of Peeping Tomms when we're on these rooftops. Here's a nice one of a penthouse balcony (that's easily three times the size of my entire condo...which I guess isn't saying much when you live in the world's smallest penthouse). Press "L".
Come to the CITY LIMITS exhibition Thursday January 19th in Toronto!!!

The constellation of Orion ascends over the tree line near Algonquin park. This was during a meteor shower (probably 1+ per minute); there are many satellites, but many are meteors.

On Saturday night September 12th. This night shot was a bit hard due to the glowing red lights they had surrounding the observatory and the domes. Gives off an irritating red glow after the finish shot. Been getting in much needed practice, because I am planning to head to west Texas at Big Bend National and state park to capture the blood moon which is to occur on September 27th (Sunday night) 2015.I'm trying to get my night shots down to a science. Have any suggestions on how to make a better shot I'm up for suggestions and positive criticism . Thanks
