When I look at it this way, we're just a bunch of Peeping Tomms when we're on these rooftops. Here's a nice one of a penthouse balcony (that's easily three times the size of my entire condo...which I guess isn't saying much when you live in the world's smallest penthouse). Press "L".
Come to the CITY LIMITS exhibition Thursday January 19th in Toronto!!!
Looking downtown on Wooster Street in SOHO NYC. I put the camera on a fully extended monopod to get the elevation with a wireless shutter release.

On Saturday night September 12th. This night shot was a bit hard due to the glowing red lights they had surrounding the observatory and the domes. Gives off an irritating red glow after the finish shot. Been getting in much needed practice, because I am planning to head to west Texas at Big Bend National and state park to capture the blood moon which is to occur on September 27th (Sunday night) 2015.I'm trying to get my night shots down to a science. Have any suggestions on how to make a better shot I'm up for suggestions and positive criticism . Thanks

In a post earlier this week, I had declared a moratorium on rooftopping and proclaimed my failure in actually going ahead with that moratorium. After another great night of exploring with THE MAN, I realized that such a hiatus would be foolish.
As he put it "you'd have to be crazy NOT to do what we're doing". After all the rooftop views I've been fortunate enough to see thus far...I would have to agree.

It's been a difficult time the last couple of weeks keeping up-to-date with the photos. I honestly can't say I've been too pleased with the quality of my images of late. Need to start shooting more and getting inspired. Sorry for the crap.
More of my shots from above.

"Isola di San Giacomo in Palude Chandelier II" by Dale Chihuly, at the Milwaukee Art Museum, Wisconsin.
Sub zero temps and a little wind reminded me what it might mean if I slipped off the edge of the pier. Lake Michigan creates some pretty amazing ice on it's piers and lighthouses.
I spent a warm summer night photographing abandoned buildings in Eastern Oregon. I tried several different compositions of the church before finally settling on one that combined the church and Milky Way just right.
Perseid Meteor Shower 2013
Taken over Golden NM on 8-12-13
The Perseids are a prolific meteor shower associated with the comet Swift-Tuttle. The Perseids are so-called because the point from which they appear to come, called the radiant, lies in the constellation Perseus. The name derives in part from the word Perseides, a term found in Greek mythology referring to the sons of Perseus.
The stream of debris is called the Perseid cloud and stretches along the orbit of the comet Swift-Tuttle. The cloud consists of particles ejected by the comet as it travels on its 133-year orbit. Most of the particles have been part of the cloud for around a thousand years. However, there is also a relatively young filament of
dust in the stream that was pulled off the comet in 1865.

Pacific Tower Seattle. Completed in 1932 was a hospital facility for Marines, USCG, Merchant Seamen and indigent people defined as “federal compensation cases”. The building was damaged in the 2001 Nisqually earthquake requiring $6 million in repairs. Used HDR Efex Pro 2 to add a little drama to the shot. Not even the excitement of fresh roofs could lure me back. I reluctantly stood there for hours taking shots, not out of love, but out of routine. Perhaps I will be once again inspired.
Note: I am giving away a HUGE 36x24 print to one lucky winner. More of my shots from above.
