C-851 Classic (1985) by J. Logue (Luthier - Toronto) - Nikon D800 with Rokinon 14mm F2.8 Prime - Photographer Russell McNeil PhD (Physics) lives on Vancouver Island, where he works as a writer.
I have been testing a new lens of late...its the Rokinon 14mm f 2.8. The angle of view is a generous 116 degrees. That is well over twice as much as us mere humans see in complete focus with moving our heads, ( approx 48 degrees).
So far I have been impressed with this lens on my 5D Mark II. The reviews are mixed and the quality control in assembly may require a send back and exchange, but when you get a good one this lens is really quite nice.
This color image held the color very well and the image held sharpness very well from corner to corner and top to bottom. The contrast was very good. For a well balanced and good quality, when you get a good one, this lens will perform very well for it's intended use...landscape, and it offered at a very good price of well under $400.00.

Hearn's other, far darker control room. There's a reason we don't see many photos from here - it is literally in the dark. I love how the shadow of me and the tripod appear in this image.

Bancroft Hall is located on the campus of the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland.
The old Murphy Ranch, Santa Monica.
The Murphy’s Ranch is an Abandoned Nazi Camp....a bit of it's history: during the second world war, Winona and Norman Stephens were convinced by a German named Herr Schmidt that when Germany ultimately won the war, the American government would not be able to stay afloat thus leading to a time of anarchy in the United States. During that time they would be able to live in their self-sustaining community and then come out when the opportunity presenting itself to help with the German take over. So with that convincing they set out to build a massive area they could use to keep them safe during the war. As we all know that didn’t happen and around the time of Pearl Harbor they were taken into custody from their home.
Valley of the Gods is a scenic sandstone valley near Mexican Hat in San Juan County, southeastern Utah. It is north of Monument Valley across the San Juan River, and has similar rock formations to Monument Valley, albeit on a smaller scale, with tall, red, isolated mesas, buttes, and cliffs standing above the level valley floor, remnants of an ancient landscape.
The moon was setting over the horizon and the milky way was out but being washed out by the small crescent moon. The ambient light was highlighting the red rocks and showing how expansive the place is.

I seriously need to visit this place more often! Amazing place to watch the sunset and hardly anyone to share the view with...perfect!

27 shots in ~ 30 minutes. Merged with StarStax software. Foreground is illuminated by the moon.
This was going great until some jackass had to circle me and my friends in his pickup truck like a shark and ruined my shot. Before he left he felt the need to do donuts next to us. Why can't people appreciate the quietness of the night is beyond my comprehension!
A different perspective on a Seattle skyline shot. Used LightRoom 5 Beta to highlight the not so scenic area.
