Absolutely love the Death Trooper design. Hope these guys are every bit as menacing as they look. Hype is through the roof, bring on December 16th already!
The dual windscreens in 10497 gave me the idea to try to create a classic space version of my favorite Star Wars ship, the U-wing. Overall I am pretty happy with this one. I wasn't sure if I would be able to keep the functions of the U-wing but managed to get the sweeping s-foils and opening troop compartment doors (this with the addition of 2 1L axle/pins and 4 2L axle pins). All other parts come from the set. The part count comes in a little over 900. Instructions are available at rebrickablw if you'd like to build one of your own! rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-136023/Themiddlebrick/ut-928d-ga...
How many AT-AT walkers attacked Hoth?
According to the official novelization (by Donald Glut), there were at least 12.
Through the blizzard, the small dots seemed to be advancing at a slow yet steady pace, churning up clouds of snow as they moved toward the Rebel base.
The officer raised his electrobinoculars and focused on the approaching objects. There must have been a dozen of them resolutely advancing through the snow, looking like creatures out of some uncharted past. But they were machines, each of them stalking like enormous ungulates on four jointed legs.
"All Imperial forces, have been evacuated, and I stand ready to destroy the entire moon." - Director Krennic
Meanwhile, on the Death Star, Tarkin and Krennic prepare to test the weapon on Jedha City, having evacuated all Imperial forces from the moon via Protocol 13. Krennic goes to order the complete destruction of the moon, but Tarkin overrules him and orders that the test-firing be conducted at minimum power. (From Wookieepedia.)
"The ancient world of Jedha was home to one of the first civilizations to explore the nature of the Force". Jedha was a small desert moon in the galaxy.

"Part of the daily routine is to recognize the exteriors of the Echo Base, especially near the power generators."
"Their primary target will be the power generators."
―General Carlist Rieekan, during the Battle of Hoth
Power generators were used throughout the galaxy to supply large amounts of power to cities, bases, factories, starfighters, and planetary weapons. Smaller power generators existed which were able to provide continuous power for portable heavy weapons, vehicles, structures, and machinery.
Both the Galactic Empire and the Rebellion used power generators at their bases to keep their communications arrays, base shields, turbolaser towers, and mining facilities functioning at peak levels. They were also used by numerous other factions such as the Zann Consortium and the Hutt Cartel.
"Captain visits a Hoth trench, and takes a look at the conditions in the trenches before the Battle"
Echo Base was the settlement established by the Rebel Alliance on the frigid planet of Hoth in the wake of the Battle of Yavin, so named due to its strange acoustics.
Less than a month after its establishment, the base was discovered by the Galactic Empire who then invaded Hoth, forcing the Rebels to evacuate.

Brick Sketch #48
I rarely photograph Brick Sketches at an off-angle, but felt it was warranted in this case to help catch the silky reflections and deep shadows!
A simple take on the AT-ST walker.
This was taken to go with my previous post, the comparison charts with three different AT-ST's. I didn't want to go on snow this time, I chose quite the opposite of the pristine white and went to misty dark forest setting. There were trees behind the walkers, but as I fired the camera over and over, the trees began to feel unnecessary, I took them off, killed most of the lights and shot with just one lamp.
I've always loved Star Destroyers... From the first scene in Episode IV... and this was by far the coolest scene with them ....
You knew someone had to build it :D
My first entry for the IdS Moc Olympics on Imperium der Steine (www.ImperiumDerSteine.de).
Task is to build a scene of the last Star Wars movie 'Rogue One - A Star Wars Story' on 8x8.
(After I couldn't be no longer participant of 'The Tourney' out of illness reasons, it fortunately was possible to build this little vignette.)
It shows the Stormtrooper Doll who was lost by Jyn Erso in the first scenes of the movie.
Though 8x8 is very small I tried not to use a regular MiniFig. It started with the helm and the idea of creating a sort of doll hold by strings. In the end it finally worked out.
Hope you like the result.

Another variation of my red 1 x-wing MOC, Saw Gerrera's partisans x-wing from Rogue One.
Instructions on Rebrickable (ask me about 90% discount if you have my another x-wing):
Really happy with this creation! I built this entirely from one concept image for Rogue One, plus the limited footage we have in the trailers. I went through multiple designs for the front, eventually ending on the use of the wedge plates.
May the Force be with you!

The Billy Connolly mural on Dixon Street is one of Glasgow’s three official 75th‑birthday tribute murals unveiled in 2017, and the one on Dixon Street is Rogue One’s large‑scale street‑art interpretation of Jack Vettriano’s portrait Dr Connolly, I Presume?. It remains one of the most photographed pieces on the Glasgow Mural Trail.
