All the gadgets inside K-2SO's head provided ample amount of data and estimates of the thickness and density of the ice. But without actually testing it, one could not be sure. I mean, you know how it is.
K-2SO fell through ice several times that winter.
I built this earlier this year and kind of waited to see if I had time to build something to go along with it. But nothing so far, so here it is anyway :)
Yesterday morning I succumbed to Jyn Erso. There was some deals at a local toy store on the new U-Wing and Krennic's Shuttle and I couldn't resist buying them, even though I initially planned not to before having seen the movie. Once back home I just took Jyn and Cassian out of the box and head to some nice place to enjoy the golden hour.

I've always loved Star Destroyers... From the first scene in Episode IV... and this was by far the coolest scene with them ....
You knew someone had to build it :D
Woods, not a safe place to walk at this particular time of the year. Not that this guy would pose any danger but you might be startled to see it all of a sudden and, well, laundry might ensue.
Happy Halloween!
– Everyday they grow stronger.
These words accompany the appearance of Director Orson Krennic in one of the frames in the second «Rogue One» trailer. Howling sirens in the background only enhances the stressful atmosphere.
New shot is just about it. He feel the weight on his shoulders, responsible for the security of the strategically important project for the Empire – the Death Star orbital battle station.
The UT-60D U-wing starfighter/support craft also known as the UT-60D, or U-wing, was a transport/gunship model manufactured by Incom Corporation and used by the Alliance to Restore the Republic during the Galactic Civil War.
Used to drop troops into battle, and provide cover fire for them, U-wings featured at least one side door which could also be used as a viewport for a mounted blaster cannon.
The wings of the U-wing were retractable and could be positioned forward-facing or backward-facing depending on the situation.
An Alliance Blue Squadron U-wing participated in the Battle of Scarif, in which it dropped reinforcements for the Rogue One squad fighting on the planet's surface and provided close air support.
The U-wing also saw action during the Battle of Jakku as a part of the New Republic Starfleet.

So, ever since seeing the first Rogue One trailer, I have loved the U-Wing. Not only does it have an awesome design, and looks fast, even when sitting still, but it also is something I have wanted to see from Star Wars for a long time: a Rebel Dropship.
After seeing the movie, (which has some really awesome sequences featuring U-Wings), on opening night, I determined I was going to build the U-Wing in full minifig scale.
After completing the ship, I decided to create a diorama for it.
Big thanks to Gary^The^Procrastinator for letting me borrow all his precious dark tan masonry bricks. ;D
Credit to Paul Trach for the wall technique.
This also happens to be my first minifig scale Star Wars build.
As a little bonus, Jyn and Cassian are somewhere in the MOC. Can you find them?
Hope you all like it! :)

Traveling by the name Jun Kanda, The Dogged Man trudges through the lonely volcanic plains of Lah'mu in search of a Triumvirate presence.
Think you can recognize/guess his face?

For me, K-2SO is easily the best part about Rogue One. After seeing the many awesome versions of this droid out there I was inspired to build one myself. (The folks pointing out the K2 influences in this bot got me thinking about it as well.)
I'm pretty happy with how this turned out! The shoulder/hip articulation is below my usual standards but for this build I decided to prioritize the shape and look.
I'm even happier I can stop thinking about it; I've been working on this and obsessing about it for weeks so it's nice to let my mind move onto other things (who else does this?). Of course there are still some areas I'd like to improve (*cough*feet*cough*) but what else is new?
I usually let the pieces do all the talking but in this case I couldn't resist dotting the balljoint with some eyes. I may have to relax my "rules" a bit!

More fun from the Rogue One trailer, and first LEGO shot with my shiny new Sony A6300.
Fire = chili pepper lights
Smoke = garbage bag
Background = brown t-shirt draped over a bunch of yo-yos with some lego bricks on top
A small, basic scene to display my cool new Star Wars vehicle! Make sure to check out the picture of the vehicle.
The work by Rogue One is so beautiful that it's even moving sometimes. We saw many more wall pieces but not all of them were easy to photograph because of lack of light. But these shots are already so much more than we counted on and such a joy to find. Impressive.
Here's my MOC of the Battle of Scarif from Rogue One - A Star Wars Story.
I've chosen the scene after the Death Troopers were sent into the battle by Director Krennic and finally arrived with their Tie Reaper at the beach.
I've included some small easter eggs (last two pictures) because the MOC was displayed in an exhibition mostly for kids, who had a lot of fun exploring them.
The MOC was displayed at the Star Wars Days 2017 at the LDC in Oberhausen/Germany.

I had a different shot planned for today, but some bricks I was awaiting ended up not arriving. Oh well, hopefully tomorrow.
I set out with this shot not really knowing what I wanted to shoot. All I knew was that I just finished building this TIE Striker and I had developed a big crush on it.
I toyed around with different angles for a bit, and just when I thought I was finished I got the idea to try something symetrical. Turned out to be huge pain in the ass trying to get everything lined up, and at nearly 3am, I think my eyesight started to go.
Hopefully I got close enough.
To achive the shot, I ended up building a base for the TIE Striker which required a counterbalance to keep it from tipping over. In front of the TIE I placed an LED flashlight and covered it with some soft, foam material.
When shooting, I held a second peice of the foam right up to my lens, gently moving it through the exposure.
In lightroom I cropped the image to re-center things. Then bumped up the glow of the... whatever the hell those things are called that the ground crew is holding. I used radial filters to create an extremely sublte glow and then also tried to take down the reflection of my camera & tripod in the back of the helmet (oops).
Not sure if any of this worked, but it's late, and I'm tired so it's done.
Thanks for looking and have a great day

Good to get outside with the kid during lock-down, letting him play with the new Astromech Droid.

As soon as I saw and heard this droid interacting with the titular character on the episodic Star Wars show, Andor, I knew I was going to add it to my collection of LEGO toy robots.
This design is squishable, to reproduce B2EMO's hunker-down mode. I figured B2EMO would sprout manipulator arms whenever the plot requires.
Here is my Rogue one hand painted minifigure Chirrut Imwe:)
Hope you guys like it .All parts were made by me and then painted it.
I spent last weekend at the amazing Star Wars Celebration and got a few shots of the new Tie Striker from Rogue One. I'm really glad how this shot came out, considering the model was in a glass display case.

What better place to celebrate Star Wars Day (a.k.a. Jedi Day) than on Scarif. Seriously, it's a dream destination. 🚀
These Jedi deserve some rest & a few days off, don't they?

To all my fellow SW fans out there, May The 4th Be With You! Let the celebration continue!
