Wie bei vielen technischen Dingen, die ich besaß oder besitze, unterzog ich den Ghettoblaster (auch Boombox genannt) einer Fotosession.

Mit dem klassischen Design hat der Hersteller einen tollen Gegenentwurf zu der rundgelutschten Unterhaltungselektronik geschaffen, quasi als Kontrapunkt zur Smartphonegeneration.

Das Gerät hat alle nötigen digitalen Features, die heute üblich sind. Neben dem Kassettenrecorder, der von allen Quellen aufnimmt, gibt es UKW/ DAB+, USB-Wiedergabe und -Aufnahme, Bluetooth, CD-Wiedergabe (Aufnahme auf Kassette oder als MP3 auf Stick möglich). Da die Mittel- und Langwelle eh tot sind (Funkamateure werden mir sicher sagen, dass das nicht so ist), wurde auf diese Wellenbereiche verzichtet.

Die Belegung der Bedienelemente hätte ich evtl. anders gelöst. Der Lautstärkeregler ist nicht der große Knopf links oben (welcher tatsächlich die Quellenauswahl vornimmt), wie man vermutet hätte (weil rechts der Senderwahlknopf ist, ein Schema, das seit den Röhrenradios Gültigkeit hatte und oft eingehalten wurde), sondern ein kleiner Drehknopf links unten. Auch sind die kleinen Drehregler etwas wackelig, das hätte anders gelöst werden können. Aber bei 299 € will ich dem gekauften Gaul mal nicht zu tief ins Maul schauen.

Alles in allem fühlt es sich wie vor 35 Jahren an, wobei ich mir damals so ein Gerät hätte nie leisten können (die gab es meist als Grauimporte nur im Gebrauchtwarenhandel).

The term "collective memory" denotes the aggregate of memories and knowledge, that a social group holds, which is intrinsically linked to the group's identity. Maurice Halbwachs, a philosopher and sociologist, developed this concept in his 1925 work, «Les cadres sociaux de la mémoire». Various social collectives can create, disseminate, and inherit collective memory.

Contrary to the term "collective memory, the notion of "collective memories" is inherently problematic. Memories are the results of the individual acts of recollection, making the idea of "collective memories" paradoxical. Diffusion models, utilizing vast amounts of data, including historical and personal old photographs, may be seen as involved in the prompts-driven singular acts of remembrance, producing images that paradoxically represent "collective memories," something otherwise unfeasible and ultimately, non-existent.
