GOOD NIGHT

What I do when I am restless at 2:30 in the morning.

Along the Lake Minnewanka Road, Banff National Park, Alberta, Canada

“Feel” the humidity and hear sounds of thunder and dripping water, while walking on spongy floors and viewing unusual animals from Southeast Asia, including snakehead fish, Southeast Asian turtles, Malayan Leaf frog and the rare Tomistoma crocodile (above).

Pattern: Restless, by Bonnie Sennott

Yarn: Kitchen Sink Dyeworks Blue Faced Lace [100 percent washable Blue Faced Leicester wool; 390yd/356m per skein]; color: Barefoot, 1 skein

Needles: US #4/3.5 mm

Decided to go for a slightly wonky composition since I loved the combination of colour and shapes against the skyline despite the buildings falling over!

The days grow shorter and the air is damp and cool. The sweet smell of decaying leaves permiates the air. You can't help but feel that there is someone watching you from the garden.

This little girl did her best to get a closer view during an evening performance at a Jesuit Mission in Battambang, Cambodia. She kept getting out of her seat and it was fun to watch her involvement in the show.

The Mission provides support for children who've suffered health problems from landmine accidents and those who have other disabilities. Children with these conditions are generally ostracized in Cambodia and the Mission provides a home with love support.

November's Restless booth at Second Friday had us sponsoring a write-in on main street.

Neither of these look comfortable at all.

Strong "Vaudaire" south-east wind outpouring from the Rhône valley with Foehn conditions on lake Leman and the Lavaux vineyard region, canton of Vaud, Switzerland.

This place amazed me, how in the evening the lake would be choppy then by morning it was crystal clear and still.

Yeah, I finally located my remote switch.

Finding the switch enabled me to finally be able to accomplish the 6:25 minute exposure on BULB mode to accomplish this photo, which I'd been wanting to do for a long time. With an ISO at 100, I went and lay on the bed for the aforementioned time, changing positions, to get the visualizations I'd intended all along. I'd first imagined this exact image in my mind months ago. It's dusk outside, not daylight.

In the above photo I sought to illustrate the tension between walking and waiting in life. The bench represents the longing and waiting hope we all have for true love, happiness, peace and joy. The trail is similar to our activities and work that takes up much of our time and space. Somehow both are always present and unavoidably in tension. We are consumed with what we are doing, what we want and have right now, and yet we long and hope for more!

When you consider your life do you see that there is a longing for more? Speaking of the longing of the soul for God, Augustine of Hippo wrote in his journal The Confessions, “Thou has made me for thyself and my soul is restless until it finds its rest in thee.”

This A3 piece is a storyboard of a verse in one of my favourite songs called ‘Restless Year‘ by Ezra Furman. The lyrics give me a very vivid image of a teen girl trudging through a city, discovering a crown in pile of rubbish and strutting around with it like she’s the queen. Completed: 8/11/2020.

I get up very early everyday. Do at the very least. One hour of yoga. It's how I adopt to the new day. Much like a flower opening it's petals my Mom would say. Very slowly into the sun. And it is very correct. Life is motion. From birth to death.

Racers don't just hit the accelerator and go. They warm the engine and the tires. You walk a horse before you gallop. So I ease into the day.

Therefore I wake early and am normally leaving for work around five.

Sandra gets up later and goes to bed later.

So it's quite common for me to be in bed even before she gets home from the gym.

She can always tell when I'm troubled. I scoot around a bed like a mouse being played with by a cat.

So she'll come in. Give me a kiss while wrapping me in her arms. And say. I'm here. I won't let anything bad happen to you...... And I won't budge an inch the rest of the night.

This lady has a wonderful dress from Souldoll and I was brave enough to share a full-body shot (instead of my usual from bust upwards portraits) in order to show it off.

Toby didn't want me to study. Which was understandable -- I didn't want to study, either.
