We stopped here on our way to Burning Man in 2004, and decided to stop again this time.

At this little rest area, there's a hidden waterfall in the picnic area. They don't really mention it on the signs for the rest area, it's only on one sign that's up the trail a ways. If you don't know there's a waterfall here, you'd probably never find it.
Or, as known outside my family, the rest stop outside of Buellton on the 101 fwy.
We have passed by this little stop for 40+ years. The restrooms had a makeover maybe 20 years back, and within the last two years they started to be squeaky clean once again.
The site also holds special significance for me because of what's nearby. Just to the north, and only when traveling north, is a short tunnel which my grandfather helped build. This rest stop was their camp during the building process.
The Pennsylvania Welcome Center on Route 15 in Tioga, PA is a great place to stop (southbound only) for clean rest rooms, lots of PA tourist information and a great view of the Tioga Dam and surrounding countryside. See Google Map
