Panoramic of the picnic area behind the main facilities of the Iredell County I-77 southbound rest area.
HDR Panoramic image of clouds, taken during a trip from Springfield to Shreveport.
I'd been fascinated with clouds for that entire trip - so I stopped a couple of times to take photos of them.
I'm taking a picture of what???
In addition to the yellow building, these two buildings also house restrooms. If I recall correctly, they each house men's and women's restrooms. That's three sets of men and women's toilets. Great for busses whose closet toilets have failed.
Plaque for the "Up/Over" sculpture, at a rest area off of Interstate 80 westbound, near Ogallala, Nebraska. A picture of the sculpture is a few photos down, in my photostream.
This turkey sculpture is filled with discarded plastic bottles to illustrate the need to protect the environment and waterways from careless disposal of plastic waste.
We rented a cottage north of Point au Baril just south of the French River. Such a picturesque part of the province - never far from Georgian Bay with all it has to offer. We took a day trip up to Killarney on the Bay near Manitoulin Island. There is a lovely little rest area on Tyson Lake on the way to Killarney and these steps from the lake to the parking lot caught my eye. I like the litle stand of birch at the top of the stairs.

Interstate 70 passes through a gap in the San Rafael Reef. Here we see trucks on the long steep grade to the top of the Ran Rafael Swell, a huge sandstone dome-shaped anticline in Utah.
