Some TVR models at the M6 rest area near Corley. As far as I know TVR production stopped in 2007. Plans to relaunch the company have failed until now.
We stop off at the Vail Pass Rest Stop to take care of business and for Conner to get a chance to play in the snow one more time.
Rest areas. It is nice when you come across rest areas that try to make the best of the situation. This one fit the bill. Flags flying proudly, shady trees and picnic tables along with colorful trash cans.

A rest area sculpture on Route 89 in Vermont.
There is a story to these sculptures, I just don't know it yet. Or know all of it. I found a picture of one of them online with this caption:
"One of 18 sculptures designed and fabricated during the International Sculpture Symposium held in Vermont in 1968 and 1971. Matching grant funding was provided by the National Endowment for the Arts."
From another source I learned the sculpture symposiums were organized by a much-loved and now deceased UVM professor. The sculptors came from all over the world, and the output was set at rest areas on Routes 89 and 91.

a mad dash to boston tonight after a treehugging board meeting in VT. Grabbed this picture on the way out of VT at a rest area. Not too much of Monday left to shoot my SP (10:30pm). My next stop is after midnight in boston. (foosh = caffenated mints - thinkgeek.com)
The rest stop at exit 317 along northbound I-75 in Michigan is also a park. A nature trail leads to platforms for admiring the Scenic View. It was a great place to stretch our legs on the long drive from Detroit to the Straits of Mackinaw.
We veered off of I5 at Shasta, and took the road between McCloud and Susanville to get to Reno. It gave us the opportunity to enjoy the snow in the Lassen National Forest. The bulk of these shots were taken at the Bogard Rest Area.
The downed trees have been removed from the rest area and the damage has been estimated at $6-8,000 for repairs. The rest area will be reopened once power is restored.
