The University of Coimbra’s grand examination room is Amazing. It tops the room where for university’s major academic ceremonies such as oral exams and graduations take place. The ceiling has some amazing patterns with Indo-Portuguese themes. PhD defences can be viewed from the balconies hat run round the outside of he top of the walls. Fascinating.
Snapped with my mobile phone, one foggy morning comming out of work. Don't know if it was exhaustion from a VERY hard shift or delirium, but the repeating patern of the paving stones was quite hypnotic.

Huge catch-up posting today.
Busy old time as the year end nears, finishing up some jobs, checking invoices and starting to set up some portfolio shoots over the Winter period. I have managed to keep shooting the 365's though. Mainly on the iPhone simply as the other cameras are in work mode. It's been fun playing with the phone camera again, it's even more fun looking back over the weeks shots and remembering moments I'd almost forgotten.
I loved the pattern the streetlight made so made a niffty B&W shot and tiled the thing. Kind of hurts my eyes in thumbnail view.

Origin: France. Circa: 1900. Period: 20th Century. A lovely turn of the century iron box with a repeating floral pattern and a bright red agate slice for a lid. The box has iron work that is quintessentially French. The drooping romantic flowers that decorate the sides of the box have all the style and design of the Art Nouveau period patterns. The box gold tone iron-work is reminiscent of that found in the entrances to old metro stations in Paris. The iron work is reticulated, and the flowers have a faded painted look but the yellow and green colors that remain contrast beautifully with the bold orange-red lid. The box is inspired by nature, like so much decorative art of its era. The oval shaped slice of agate is mounted nicely and framed by braided iron work. The lid holds open, and opens and closes perfectly with a nice sheen that catches the light as it moves. The entire box is raised by small feet, adding a nice delicate touch. The box measures 3 inches wide by 2 1/2 inches by 1-3/4 inches tall. Because it is made or reticulated iron-work you can always see inside of the box, which is a handy design element. It is perfect for safe keeping small personal items, such as jewelry. Makes a nice addition to a dresser table, a bright floral box to celebrate Springtime. Shop@ The HighBoy.

Leading Lines and Repeating Patterns
For this project I had to take a total of two pictures. One picture was supposed to be an example of a leading line image. The other picture was an example of an image with repeating patterns. For my first photo I took a picture of the P.E. lockers inside of the girls locker room. This photo was an example of repeating patterns. For my second photo I took a picture of a hiking trail at the local park near my house. This photo was an example of a leading line photo. Finally, this project was easy.
For my first photo I took a picture of the PE Lockers in the girls locker room. I thought these would be a good example of a repeating pattern. This is because the locker pattern keeps on repeating, and does not change. I thought this would be good because the color of the lockers are burgundy and stand out very nicely. In order to take this image, and make it a repeating pattern image I had to take it sort of in the middle of the lockers, and not show the end of them, so it would look as if it repeats on forever. The exposure for this photo was 1/60 , and the F- stop came out to be F/4. In conclusion this photo was not hard to take.
For my second photo I took a picture of a hiking trail at my local park nearby. This photo was an example of a leading lines photo. I thought it was pretty because of the grass, and the nature. You can tell it is a leading line photo because it doesn't show the end of so called line, and; or the beginning of it. This makes it seem like it is a never ending trail, or line. I had to take this in the middle of the trail, so it wouldn't show the start of the trail. The F- stop was F/6.3, and the exposure is 1/200. To conclude, this was a nice picture to take since i gotta go outdoors.
In conclusion, this project was overall pretty simple, and fun. I liked it because it got me to go outdoors, ande breathe some fresh air. Also, I think since I understood the basis of this project it was fairly simple. In conclusion, I hope we get more projects as simple, and to the point like this one.
It's a bit hard to see in the photo, but I liked how the tree repeated the theme of the abstract sculpture, and the gray tower in the far background (Harkness) repeated the brownstone tower in the near background. From the Yale University Art Gallery courtyard.
This entire set is a small sample of what was being shown at the Leigh Square Community Arts Village, in Port Coquitlam by the Quilters Out of Bounds quilting group, the display is entitled: A Walk in the Forest, and was being shown from July 18 to August 19 , 2013.

Bremen - Moments
This is a Hochbunker in Bremen, with a 1.4 meter thick concrete roof. There was room for approximately 200 people. There were electrical lights and separate toilets/washing facilities for men and women. There were hand cranked air pumping machines to bring in oxygen. The were many very small rooms to prevent people gathering in large groups, to help reduce hysteria.
This large air raid shelter that has been painted with a stunning mural of local history including both world wars.
This is a picture of a repeated flash of Ross skateboarding. Unfortunately he was wearing black pants which cause his lower half to disapear almost.
If you live in ........... you live in Dullsville. I documented the everyday for this project to combine traditional and non traditional materials and researched artists fascinated by this topic. I found urban landscapes by Emily Cole using semi naturalistic colours and obvious brushstrokes and repeated objects in works by Lisa Milroy who creates surface dynamics through angles and placement. I used cut outs of kettles from different papers on a background of acrylic paint echoing their colour and shape.

Another drive-by across-the-car out-the-window shooting across the river, from the GW Parkway. The trees in this shot make nice big dome shapes, echoing the form of the Jefferson Memorial.
