About the render:
Took about 3 hours to crank this out with depth of field blurring enabled.
sadly, Backburner won't split multi-pass renders up between systems for distributed rendering...
Had to manually add the TAP and T-PIPEs.

While the Lightwave converter did have the nice feature of adding raised lego text to each brick, It mangled normals and reduced the poly count of exposed studs highly. I am experimenting with a number of techniques to add the lettering back during the render phase while also inducing a more realistic plastic brick effect... Hopefully more to come.
I feel that for the time being this model is at a final release stage, only to be changed perhaps once my parts arrive for building it or development in building others in the series.
> 99% Lego Factory compatible.
Needs 8x 4599 Tap to complete.

I modeled this box in Sketch-Up. It's designed to fit standard 3.5 x 2 inch business cards. Although it is 'printable' on shapeways, I'm not 100% settled on this design. I'm worried the lid may ding up the corners of the cards. Rendered in Sunflow.
A little bit of settling had caused the rendering at the front of the house to crack where the concrete and brickwork join. To use Pete's word, it looked fugly.
The problem was particularly bad on the staircase to the roof terrace so we have had Andy Cole out to repair it.
First off, the not so old render had to be removed and then new render applied. When that was starting to go off they threw loads of marble chippings at it and pressed them in to give the wall its sparkly effect. In Spanish It is called Gote Gran.
Half a days work and a few Euros later, the wall looks like new again.

I made this scene for the Octane Render Competition, rendered with 2x Nvidia 560 ti.
UPDATE I decide to re-render the entire scene with Mental Ray, you can download the entire scene from my website (www.antoniobosi.com). The scene contains the entire scene for Maya, 3d studio and .obj files. Hi-res textures and postproduction psd files included.
(Models and textures in Maya, rendered with Mental Ray | December 2012)
Walls like this talk in a very real way...neglect helps with the story...as is often the case with people.

This scene was built and rendered using modo 401, a 3D modeling and animation software package.
It's my first modo 401 render...actually my first modo render period. The primary purpose of this image was to get familiar with the lighting and render settings as well as the GI and DOF features.
