Relating to John Piper I created this piece to show off that decay in buildings can be incredibly beautiful. John Piper's work consists of abstract buildings, he chooses colours that you wouldn't normal see in this particular landscape. i choose red as i though it best shows what i was trying to do and make this piece more abstract.

A few weeks ago, I was looking for the commemorative covers I'd bought relating to the M.V. Leinster but couldn't find them so I thought I'd lost them. Well, I started looking for the exact same ones or what I THOUGHT were the exact same ones because this one from 1 June 1969 when the ship sailed to Liverpool only has the one postmark, dated the next day.
Looking at how much it cost, I would say I was robbed when I bought the first one (with the two postmarks) but I wasn't really...there's only 97 pence difference. Scanning this in was the easy bit, editing it was a fucking nightmare...especially the Irish Philatelic Enterprises label.
Whoever stamped the address on had been really fucking heavy handed - the 'S' in 'Silver Spring' looked like an '8' so I had some very careful cut and pasting to do, which took me fucking ages. Then there was the colour matching, matching the exact same shade of blue. Well, I hope you like my efforts.
