A westbound BNSF coal train reflects on calm backwaters of the Clark Fork between Noxon and Heron, Montana, on the sunny afternoon of May 5, 2025.

Male Banded Demoiselles chasing each other over the river.
It was fantastic to see so many of these beautiful insects in one place, probably helped by the very warm and windless day.
