Fuqua Park - Duncan, OK
Taken at the weekend in Glenorchy, Otago, New Zealand. We were very lucky with the weather and it was so still and calm on the water. I used a NISI polariser to enhance the blue sky. A very excellent place to view the mountains behind.
Beautiful cool Autumn morning with the sun gently highlighting the foliage. Colors a bit more muted this year due to the drought.
I finally got to try out my Cokin P series holder with GND8 and ND8 stacked filters.
Turns out that the ND8 filter gives a pink-ish cast over the image but I quite like that effect!

A monochrome capture of a contemporary building's facade from Obarrio, Panama City, highlighting the symmetrical grid pattern of windows with irregular insets, the pronounced reflection of clouds, and an intriguing protruding structure that adds depth and contrast. The right side showcases a more traditional vertical design, juxtaposing the two architectural styles.
Its been a while since I have been out chasing sunsets.
The clouds were looking promising, and it came together :-)

The outside of the buildings had beautiful cloud reflections and view of the facade. Monash University, Learning & Teaching Building.
One of a series of small pools , which are hidden amongst the scrub and low trees, at the northern end of the runway at Lydd Airport. Discovered on one of the many daily walks of mine, while on furlough.

Mum and Dad took up painting when Dad retired. They went on painting weekends together and took classes. Mum followed the teacher's instructions and painted what she thought would look right. My father never followed the teacher's instructions and formed his own relationship with what he was painting.
A calm evening and the lighting just right produces enchanting reflections, on Otter Lake on the Blue Ridge Parkway, in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia…
I was trying to recall the first time I went to Centennial Beach
I do remember going with a boyfriend when I was nineteen ? -
I had a pink two piece bathing suit, it was high noon ...
and we laid ourselves out on a blanket to "tan" ourselves ...
yes, I know, what a pair of dumbasses, we got roasted
but while I was there I do not recall ever noticing
Mount Baker - or going down to the water's edge.
Was I so absorbed in my teenage dramas ?
And why do I notice her all the time now ...
It makes me wonder about what I am not
noticing right now, something others can see
but I am blind to it. This photo was taken sixteen
years ago tomorrow, time is flying by y'all .

"Reflections of My Life"
A pond abuting on the Little Brombachsee rather close to the village of Absberg, Franconia (Bavaria)
Some background information:
The Little Brombachsee and its connected lakes Huge Brombachsee and Igelsbachsee make up an artificial reservoir, which belongs to the so called Franconian Lakeland. It serves the water regulation, but because of its great recreation offer it's also a favoured recreational area for the residents of the city of Nuernberg as well as a popular tourist destination for holidaymakers from farer away.
The lakes are located only 37 km south of the city of Nuremberg. The water in the lakes comes via a transition from the river Altmuehl, which is a subsidiary stream of the river Danube, while the lakes’ outlet is the the small river Brombach.
All three lakes together contain about 150 Mio m³ of water. The reservoir has an overall length of about ten km and an overall width of about two km. The maximum water depth is ca. 33 m. The other lakes, which belong to the Franconian Lakeland, are the Rothsee, the Altmuehlsee, the Hahnenkammsee and the Dennenloher See. All in all these seven lakes amount to a water surface of about 20 square kilometres.
Although the three lakes Huge Brombachsee, Little Brombachsee and Igelsbachsee were flooded just about 20 years ago they fit harmoniously in the hilly and forest countryside. Hence visitors get the impression that they have always been there. The lakes offer the guests numerous activities like swimming, other aquatic sports, cycling and hiking.
One of the highlights is the elegant ‘MS Brombachsee’, the largest Trimaran on a lake in Europe, which cruises the lake from spring to autumn. Moreover, the largest lake harbour in Germany with about 600 docking spaces is situated in Ramsberg.
The lakes have changed the scenery a lot, just like the possibilities to earn a living. Hotels, restaurants and campsites have been built and many farmers have also built and furnished holiday apartments. Letting them to tourists is an acceptable additional income for them. Many tourists are German-based, but there are also a lot of visitors from the rest of Europe, in particular from the Netherlands.
The village of Absberg is situated on a promontory between the Igelsbachsee to the north and the Little Brombachsee to the south, about 50 km (31 miles) southwest of the city of Nuremberg. The commune has about 1,400 residents, who mainly make their living from tourism and agriculture.
In 948, Absberg was first mentioned in a document. In 1455, it was granted the right to execute low justice. After the noble house of the Knights of Absberg had died out in 1647, the German Order was awarded its ancestral seat Absberg Castle and all of its estates in 1651. However, today the castle is lost completely. In 1725, a second Absberg Castle was built in the Baroque style on behalf of Karl Heinrich von Hornstein, who was a knight and commander of the German Order.
After Prussia had occupied the area in 1796, it was adjudged to the Kingdom of Bavaria in the Treaty of Paris of 1806, while a different region was allocated to Prussia. At the same time, the German Order had all its rights revoked. Today, the baroque Absberg Castle still exists and is also still in good repair. But as it has become a retirement home, it is not open to the public.
