Excuse the ants on the lens, they were everywhere!!
Looking up at the sky line around the city offers a wealth of material to shoot. I was lucky with the weather. If I had been there this last week it would have been different.

Jeanie took some time to reflect on her long journey here. It's all been very tiring and overwhelming! I also took some time today to think about a lot of things, Jeanie in particular. I'm bonding with her a lot better now :)
Narrow boats and old infrastructure line the Shropshire Union Canal Llangollen Branch. The dark waters and bright morning light create an effective reflective surface.
I was in the mood for macro today so I went out for a short walk in the neighbourhood. Unfortunately it was windy. There were some decent shots but I got really impatient so I took the flowers home :). To produce the above shot I discovered quite some time ago that you need a glass table. Then all you need is the perfect angle. Window lighting is my favourite but in other cases you might need to produce the light yourself. I used one strobe for the shot you see above. You really have to get the lighting right to get an effect that seems to be natural. Actually, for this shot I used ETTL but I diffused the light using a bond paper.
Also, as I was finishing with my chores I took a peak outside and I saw the sky was burning, see below. A minute or so later it was gone. Anyway, I hope you all like the hydrangea shot above. Cheers everyone!
I am fascinated with these wonderful geological formations/ The Magdalena River valley was formed after a series of tectonic formed depressions that filled up with continental sediment in the Tertiary period. These sediments came from the emergent Cordillera Central

With the tide about to turn around 15 minutes after sunset on 1st September 2019, the first day of autumn, 'Princess Coronation' No. 6233 'Duchess of Sutherland' sweeps over the causeway at Cockwood Harbour with The Railway Touring Company's 'Royal Duchy', 1Z85 1740 Par - Bristol Temple Meads. The train had been delayed at Par by 14 minutes, and eventually left Plymouth 16 minutes late, of which half of that deficit had been regained by Exeter. Pushing on that trigger is like pulling magic into my very soul....Darrell.
Have a safe and awesome day dear flickr friends.
Thank you to everyone for your visits to my photo-stream...very much appreciated !
This started out as an image of the ceiling of Downside Abbey, a grand Victorian monastic church south of Bath. It’s a Minor Basilica in the Roman Church. I took it a couple of weeks ago to assuage temporarily my addiction with vaulted ceilngs
For Sliders Sunday today, I doctored it lightly in Topaz Studio, duplicated the result, flipped it and put it by the side of the first copy.
I’ll post a link to the original in the first comment as usual…
Thanks for taking the time to look. I hope you enjoy the image. Happy Sliders Sunday
Taken at the weekend in Glenorchy, Otago, New Zealand. We were very lucky with the weather and it was so still and calm on the water. I used a NISI polariser to enhance the blue sky. A very excellent place to view the mountains behind.
Beautiful cool Autumn morning with the sun gently highlighting the foliage. Colors a bit more muted this year due to the drought.
I finally got to try out my Cokin P series holder with GND8 and ND8 stacked filters.
Turns out that the ND8 filter gives a pink-ish cast over the image but I quite like that effect!

I decided to convert this to B/W and hope the mood captures a somber feel to it. Aussie gums reflecting in shallow water.
A monochrome capture of a contemporary building's facade from Obarrio, Panama City, highlighting the symmetrical grid pattern of windows with irregular insets, the pronounced reflection of clouds, and an intriguing protruding structure that adds depth and contrast. The right side showcases a more traditional vertical design, juxtaposing the two architectural styles.
