We don't usually see this light at St Joseph's Church in Dinnington, S. Yorkshire. Our Easter vigil mass was at 6pm this evening and our Sunday masses are at 9.30am so we don't see the evening sun coming through the beautiful coloured glass on the western side. This was taken about 7pm. We were lucky to have a gloriously warm, sunny day after a foggy and cold start.
I'm in the middle of selling my home of 30 years, and the process of cleaning/clearing/decluttering and prepping for sale has been a giant undertaking (I had no idea!). So, with the listing going live this morning, I high-tailed it out of town for a few days while complete strangers invade my turf. Stopped at the overlook for Mono Lake as the sky helped me celebrate.
Light from the town of Monterey and the squid boat fleet out in the bay, reflected on to the low cloud, as well as the surface of the ocean
Happily sat here reflecting on the joys of dressing as and looking like a woman. This can feel so right at times and so natural, in fact I am having trouble right now to think of anything else I do that creates such pleasure and contentment.
Week Thirty-Nine ~ Reflected Sky
Our lyrical prompt for Week 39 of The Photographer Within's P52 was from Fly Me to the Moon by Frank Sinatra and the lyrics we had to shoot were: "Fly me to the moon." The 121st Annual Comal County Fair was this weekend, and it’s such a big local event that the schools close down on Friday, calling it “Fair Day,” and students get in for free until 6 p.m. The kids thoroughly enjoyed the fair, especially after Dominic won a goldfish and Anna won a parakeet playing midway games! Finn the goldfish is now living in a new 5-gallon tank on Dominic’s dresser. Sky the budgerigar is happily chirping in his new birdcage and goes wherever Anna goes. Anna is completely enchanted with Sky. She spent all day on Sunday talking to him and playing him music videos (he especially likes Katy Perry). I think the kids are ready for the responsibility of our new additions to the family. What a great weekend!
(I owned budgies growing up, so I know what's involved in caring for them.)
This image was captured in Dublin's docklands. The warm light and reflections reminds me of impressionist paintings.
Reflecting moments captured at the McNeely Conservatory at Como Park in St Paul MN.
The Marjorie McNeely Conservatory opened in 1915. The elegant steel and glass structure feels beautifully light, and on a sunny winter's day it is a wonderful respite from the cold.
The conservatory has several planting areas, water features, statues and sculptures. The most popular attraction is the flower shows, where the conservatory is filled with stunning flowers. The scent is incredible and can be almost overwhelming.
Reflections off the beautiful still water on the set of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings in New Zealand.
The sunset of Sept 7th 2009 reflected in the flaps of the Chambers Bay Grill banquet tent. I like this shot; for me, there is something rather peaceful about it.

Had a great girls' night out last night with some great friends. We had a pj party at my friend, Nancy's house. It was a great time!! On the way home this morning, I ran a couple of errands, stopped for a cup of coffee and to take my SP for the day. Housework and yoga are on the agenda for the rest of the day. Hope everyone had a great weekend!
Now that it's all said and done,
I can't believe you were the one
To build me up and tear me down,
Like an old abandoned house.
What you said when you left
Just left me cold and out of breath.
I fell too far, was in way too deep.
Guess I let you get the best of me.
Well, I never saw it coming.
I should've started running
A long, long time ago.
And I never thought I'd doubt you,
I'm better off without you
More than you, more than you know.
I'm slowly getting closure.
I guess it's really over.
I'm finally getting better.
And now I'm picking up the pieces.
I'm spending all of these years
Putting my heart back together.
'Cause the day I thought I'd never get through,
I got over you.
You took a hammer to these walls,
Dragged the memories down the hall,
Packed your bags and walked away.
There was nothing I could say.
And when you slammed the front door shut,
A lot of others opened up,
So did my eyes so I could see
That you never were the best for me.
Well, I never saw it coming.
I should've started running
A long, long time ago.
And I never thought I'd doubt you,
I'm better off without you
More than you, more than you know.
I'm slowly getting closure.
I guess it's really over.
I'm finally getting better.
And now I'm picking up the pieces.
I'm spending all of these years
Putting my heart back together.
'Cause the day I thought I'd never get through,
I got over you.
Well, I never saw it coming.
I should've started running
A long, long time ago.
And I never thought I'd doubt you,
I'm better off without you
More than you, more than you know.
