8. Mai 2020 - Gedenken an den 8. Mai 1945.

for Smile on Saturday! :-) "Sheep"
Have You Ever Herded Blue Sheep in a big city ?
No,they are not genetically engineered, they are not lawn mowers. It's "Ovine Art" created by German artists Rainer Bonk and Bertamaria Reetz and they are nourished only by interest, curiosity and the amuzed gaze of onlookers.
The Unusual Plastic Flock of Sheep, painted head-to-toe in dark blue paint, has been touring the globe for years now.You can see Blue Sheep in cities, towns,in fields or parks to promote "Tolerance and Solidarity" and to represent "Team Spirit" & "Tolerant Interaction".
A Blue Sheep is left behind in each city they visit where it remains as a Peace Ambassador.
Every sheep is indistinguishable from the next as the artists want to convey the peaceful message that "All are Equal & Everyone is Important".
Love to you from my German,Blue friends and a few lines from the Elizabethan age when John Donne, had composed the Timeless Meditation “ No Man Is An Island " ...
"No Man is an island,
Entire of itself,
Every Man is a piece of the Continent,
A part of the Main.
If a clod be washed away by the sea,
Europe is the Less.
Any Man's death Diminishes me,
Because I am involved in Mankind,
And therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls;
It tolls for thee ... "

Last night, we made a trip out to Pine Beach boat ramp in an attempt to see the comet. The clouds hid it from view but we still enjoyed some great family time. We did find it later in the photo, behind a cloud. It's there, but it is really faint.

Januar 2013 gefeiert.

Centrepiece of the garden is the, rather small, Herrenhausen Palace, originally a manor house in 1640 that was enlarged beginning in 1676.The Great Garden suffered immense damage during World War II; the British Royal Family had requested the Royal Air Force not to attack the palace, at the time still owned by the House of Hanover, but it was damaged by bombs during an air raid in 1943. The ruins of the palace were almost completely torn down after the war; the outside staircase once leading up to the entrance was salvaged from the debris and moved next to the Orangerie building where it can be seen today. In 2009, the decision was made to rebuild the palace, construction began in 2010, and the rebuilt Herrenhausen Palace was reopened on 18 January 2013.
Here's the last of my photos from last weekend. It was truly a great night for reflections and existing light photos.
January Photography Class:
Lovely Lizards will be hosting a 2-Day photography class, taught by Lovely Lizards Photographer, Roger Reetz. Shipwrecked in Orange Beach. This 41 ft sailboat washed up at the edge of Orange Beach, near Gulf State Park. I don't know the full story about it, but I do know the owner has been contacted and is going to try to get it removed today. This old girl looks like she could tell some stories.

Merry Christmas. We had an awesome sunrise along the Alabama Gulf Coast this morning. It was truly wonderful being out there as the sun crested the horizon to start Christmas day. It also gave me a chance to play with my new ND filter .

I am often coming home in the wee early hours of the morning and get to enjoy seeing the reflections of the tugboats, that are sleeping in the canal. I can never seem to capture the beauty of what it looks like, but this is pretty close.

We went out to the sailboat this evening and things have gone from bad to worse for the owner. Sand is taking over the craft and the waves have busted through the windows on the port side, allowing sand and water in. At this point, I think it's going to take a backhoe and a water jet (Mama Lizards idea) to move enough sand to get it out. Very sad situation.

Here is a good idea of the size of these new little guys! They measure in at 5inches and some a tad over and that is about as mini as my creations get.I envy the miniature bear artists that create the tiny 2,3 and 4 inch bears and always find it fascinating how they get them sooo tiny without losing there minds..lol.
This is my 2nd special order pink tabby kitty request.I just adore how sweet her expression turned out.I want to give a big ~~Thank you!~~to Viv for getting me back to making these little pink kitties.I didn't realize how much everyone like them!
I was told today that the next "Full Moon, Friday the 13th" won't happen until 2047. I figured I needed to shoot this one. No telling if I'll be around for the next :).

Man, what a wonderful afternoon I had yesterday around the eagles nest. I got lots of visits from a variety of wildlife :).
Cool Fact: The Red-headed Woodpecker is one of only four North American woodpeckers known to store food, and it is the only one known to cover the stored food with wood or bark. It hides insects and seeds in cracks in wood, under bark, in fenceposts, and under roof shingles. Grasshoppers are regularly stored alive, but wedged into crevices so tightly that they cannot escape.

It is official! Our babies have both "fledged" (a.k.a. left the nest). I found them this morning sitting together in a tree just a little bit down the trail towards cabins. They will still be in the area for a little longer while they learn to hunt and fish for themselves, then they will leave and hopefully return in five years with spouses of their own to make more nests along our beautiful Gulf Coast.
