The dining before was crowded and had no decorative window treatments. Curtains the homeowner had in a closet were hung to frame the windows and warm the space.

I finally redid my site. I still have tons of work to do but at least now that old ugly layout is gone. The background images are slow to load which I have to fix, and there are still a few visual issues. I also have to finish some of the layout and eventually I will around to filling out some of the content. (The pinkish background is a status with different format, most will be black)
I am always second guessing the black background - I really like clean, minimal designs. But, I am pretty attached to it by now and it has become part of my site's identity so I can't just change it.
Maybe one day I will actually have dolls to sell on my website :P. I am very close to going ahead and getting my first doll professionally made.. but I hate spending money and the initial fee scares me. I really don't know if I could sell enough and that money could be the difference between being able to print my new doll and not. But it would be so nice to actually see her finished.. I had to put it out of my mind after all the setbacks and I am scared to be optimistic about it now.

My living room is in desperate need of updating. We started with new fans and light fixtures. Then new paint. New furniture is coming (as soon as I figure out what I want), and if I can talk the landlord into it and don't blow all my cash at Room and Board, new flooring and maybe even refinished cabinets.
Idea after idea of sketches for the OnlyJames redesign. I went through several hundred of those little miniature boxes, until I found the perfect one.

Close up shots of the custom wall stripes that I painted, the floral accents on ceiling. I wanted the headboard wall to be a nice backdrop to, and slightly mimmic the stripes in the bedding and bed frame.
For added interest and softness, I framed out four botanical prints and installed them with satin, ivory ribbon hanging from vintage drawer pulls that I screwed into the wall. It also added height to the art above the headboard.
This mirror was originally gold I found at the thrift store painted it white and used a liquid furniture polish to give it "vintage aged" look.
