You can check out the design for yourself at www.superpages.com, of course!

I finally redid my site. I still have tons of work to do but at least now that old ugly layout is gone. The background images are slow to load which I have to fix, and there are still a few visual issues. I also have to finish some of the layout and eventually I will around to filling out some of the content. (The pinkish background is a status with different format, most will be black)

I am always second guessing the black background - I really like clean, minimal designs. But, I am pretty attached to it by now and it has become part of my site's identity so I can't just change it.

Maybe one day I will actually have dolls to sell on my website :P. I am very close to going ahead and getting my first doll professionally made.. but I hate spending money and the initial fee scares me. I really don't know if I could sell enough and that money could be the difference between being able to print my new doll and not. But it would be so nice to actually see her finished.. I had to put it out of my mind after all the setbacks and I am scared to be optimistic about it now.

This shows the main archive for all design-related posts. Considering that I've gone for a big colour-coding effort on all of my posts, I decided to change the main colours, depending on which category is being displayed.

designed this at work, picked apart and programmed by ByteStudios.

Joined by Secretary of Safety and Homeland Security James Mosely, Delaware Emergency Management Agency (DEMA) Director A.J. Schall, and other leaders from state’s Departments of Safety and Homeland Security and Health and Social Services, Governor Markell will participate in an unveiling event that will showcase the benefits of the new and improved website, which includes new features that enable real-time translation of all content and provide the latest in emergency preparedness response information. This updated resource will help the community prepare for a variety of severe weather and emergency situations.

Idea after idea of sketches for the OnlyJames redesign. I went through several hundred of those little miniature boxes, until I found the perfect one.

I wanted to capture and utilize the space in front of the large window. It's a great, small separate seating area to sit with a glass of wine or cup of coffee, look at Manhattan (when it's too cold to sit out on the patio), have a separate conversation area from the living/tv space.

As much as I wanted to keep the large plant, it unfortunately didn't survive the 4 month rehab :( ....casualty of war.

This mirror was originally gold I found at the thrift store painted it white and used a liquid furniture polish to give it "vintage aged" look.

I'm happy to finally show my newly designed and most importantly, updated website. Overall design has been redesigned to a more user-friendly appearance, which makes browsing and going through my works more easily.

Enjoy!

I am SO happy with how my (near complete) IKEA bedroom turned out. Soon, I will add a nice sitting area by the window to overlook the garden. :)

A redesign for Röyksopp's latest album, Junior. An electronic band, Röyksopp describes their latest release as "youthful and energetic," an introspection on the modern relationship between nature and machine. Depicted to represent this are a girl (natural, left) and a robot (mechanical, right), and their struggling relationship. The overall color choice, graphic and typographic style is based on 80s music, which the album draws lots of similarities with. All elements within this composition are completely from scratch – of interest, I acquired many of the textures from stains in my oven and over-exposure-gone-wrong photos (further emphasizing the imperfect nature of humanity).

My fireplace is in such a weird place in the room- should I move the seating area closer to it against the windows? Then put a dining table where the couch is now?
