First of all, many thanks to those of you who took the time to give me some feedback on the design. It's much appreciated and been very helpful.
Step 2 has moved the colour scheme along, settled on a font stack and started to kick the tyres a bit, to see if the design concept stands up to the various bits and pieces that I want (or might conceivably want at some point the future) to be on the home page.
On the subject of the colour scheme - this has probably been the most difficult aspect of this process for me. I chickened out of having an actual colour scheme (monochrome doesn't count) for a long time, because I was too chicken to try and find something that would or could be colourful and bring visual interest to a page of text, but also be able to cope with whatever images I wanted to put up, without clashing horribly. I also wanted to explore colour a bit more and try something a bit more daring than I'd usually go for.
In retrospect, the original colourscheme, viewed in the cold light of day (as opposed to the wee small hours, where odd things happen to your perception) didn't quite hit the right note. This one feels better, and (for the moment at least) achieves what I wanted, which was something that was fresh (but slightly warm), bright (without being too offensive), purple (but not too LOUD about it) and it's complement across the other side of the colour wheel green (but not too hospital or public lav).
Whew.
So anyway. What say ye?
I am SO happy with how my (near complete) IKEA bedroom turned out. Soon, I will add a nice sitting area by the window to overlook the garden. :)
This guest bath originally had a gray & white retro wallpaper. We painted it a soft blue, updated the towel bars & other hardware, and added some artwork

I personally am not a big fan of the default logo for the Java SDK - Eclipse, so I went ahead and redesigned it. Please let me know what you think.
Bonus points to anyone who can figure out the two metaphors intentionally at play in this icon (one is easy, the other is very difficult to discern).
After a fire, the formerly-floofy vaudeville house became a deco-styled movie theatre.
Sorry these photos are lousy, I didn't have my good camera with me. :(
My never-ending redesign project continues. Any comments on this iteration? You'll probably want to check it out full size for the full effect.
This is what my Flickr page looks like right now.
Apparently changes are afoot, but I'm not seeing them yet.
And I don't want to.
These new dining chairs with their sloping arms added beautiful lines and needed contrast. Between the flooring, cabinetry and furniture, there is a lot of dark wood in the space, so the cream upholstery helps to visually break up the dark shapes and tones. The new area rug is also important for that reason as well as being more size appropriate than the previous rug - which was too large for the room.

Se vem 3 unidades dentro dessa embalagem atual à esquerda, por que não fazer uma embalagem menor e com mais proteção ao Toddy Tube?
Esse alimento é frágil e da maneira atual, é muito fácil encontrar o produto quebrado :(

It'll be the last before I redo it myself. On a side note, does anybody know how to schedule posts in the WordPress CMS?
