This is the semi-final version of the site. I "simply" changed a ton of the css in the stylesheet and barely touched the xhtml (except for some validation errors i found).

I am SO happy with how my (near complete) IKEA bedroom turned out. Soon, I will add a nice sitting area by the window to overlook the garden. :)
A redesigned Uncle Sam hat! A lot of us are imagining Uncle Sam as many different things, feeling that the design should encompass the diversity and scope of our whole country. After much dialogue it was apparent that no one longer relates to the angry finger pointing man. I chose to focus my redesign on one symbol. I wanted to display the paradox of the US. A land of freedom, a land of opportunity, but a country that also fails to acknowledge much of it's problems at home and abroad. I definitely indebted to Frank Chimero and his flag building / reconstruction symbols.
during the 14+ years of working under the name elbow, i usually just stumble into something for my own identity.

What the LEADERSHIP newspaper looked like before the redesign and training efforts. The design workshops and design process was led by Robb Montgomery, a U.S. journalist who has led newspaper redesigns, in San Francisco, Chicago and Washington, D.C.

After too much stale content up top on T Incorporated I decided to redesign the homepage.
Initially my big concern with doing something like this was that I'd lose the prominence of my articles, so to fix that problem if I do post an article my site reverts back to the original design for 5 days. After that it's back to the photo version of the site.
I like to think of it as automatic editorialize content.
The photos are pulled every hour from Flickr, so there'll be a different image up but go check it out.
I’ve rearranged my room again in the process of decluttering. I managed to do away with an entire 4x4 Expedit shelving unit. I’m quite proud of the way things look now. I feel that I’ve finally embraced my personal style instead of trying to make my things fit into a preordained image of what a good style is.
Robb Montgomery's redesign of The Examiner debuted in San Francisco, Baltiimore and Washington, D.C. in March 2006.

I made my first pennant banner, and threw them over tables and chairs for a fun, cheery party! It was a blast on a budget!

Sheesh, I hate sidebars! :) So this one looks kinda barren.
But the general idea is there for the single post pages. I wanted something clean and efficient, since the focus should be on the content itself, along with the discussion in the comments.
