Salmon - Marinate salmon in orange juice, brown sugar, salt and freshly ground pepper. Grill, brushing with marinade often.
Green beans - saute green beans in olive oil for approximately five minutes, add chopped yellow tomatoes, chopped garlic, salt and pepper to taste. Saute until beans are tender.
Serve with risotto with red sauce (sorry, this portion is a family secret! I will say it includes a lot of chopped garlic and a generous amount of good, dry red wine!) The longer you cook your red sauce over low heat, the better it will taste!
Mangia!!

At work we had lunch delivered in. Just the thing for yet another gloomy day. But while I am a fan of pizza, I seem to be eating far more of it since I started this job. Not complaining, it's just a little...odd.
Rocco Restaurant was founded on Thompson Street in Greenwich Village by Rocco Stanziano in 1922. This old-school Italian 🇮🇹 restaurant was known as a mob joint and also attracted a celebrity clientele over the years including Marilyn Monroe &Joe DiMaggio, Johnny Depp and Robert De Niro. Mario Batali also worked at the restaurant as a chef. Sadly, this family-owned restaurant was forced to close in 2012 after its landlord raised its rent from $8,000 a month to $18,000 a month. The storefront was taken over by Carbone, an Italian-American restaurant in 2013 owned by Mario Carbone, Rich Torrisi and partner Jeff Zalaznick who remodeled the interior but left the remnants of original neon signage from Rocco’s and added in neon the words “Carbone and “Wines Liquors” (swipe left for 2nd photo).
•
Let us know if you have eaten at Carbone (we have not but did dine at Rocco’s) as it is expensive and notoriously difficult to get a reservation.

Easy for my teenage son to cut a slice and take on the run.
(A little heathier than the Hot Pockets the teenagers eat now and no preservatives)

Potato pizza! (On the left; the right is a regular pizza with red sauce and Daiya cheese.) A mashup of two recipes: Rosemary Potato Pizza and Potato Pizza. Not bad, but a little on the dry side. Next time, I think I'll try some cheddar mashed potatoes under the potato slices for added moisture. Thoughts?
