Taking a page out from any small town pizzeria that’s been around since the 1950s, the upstairs split-level dining room has been repainted in creamy lemon and light green wainscots that are lined with booths, banquettes, and vintage menu art.

Today was Dad's birthday...yes he was born on Hitler's Birthday and 4-20...lucky man...We celebrated by having lunch out before we went to the God Box...We were all strangely tired though so we headed home afterward for some much needed rest...All in all, it was a nice and fight-free day...
For dinner last night, we had a nice, simple pasta with (partially homemade) red sauce and freshly grated Pecorino cheese on top.

The one on the left is only partially assembled to show the Béchamel sauce...

A hero is a sandwich (think sub) that’s made using a long Italian roll (Riviera Bakery’s sesame roll) that’s stuffed with various meats, cheeses, vegetables and sauces.

Add a little spaghetti sauce
Yum
Easy for my teenage son to cut a slice and take on the run.
(A little heathier than the Hot Pockets the teenagers eat now and no preservatives)
Popcorn Float ($9) aged rum, caramelized popcorn ice cream, Coca Cola. The cola float gets an upgrade using caramel popcorn-infused ice cream (that’s been made in a Pacojet from the space’s Acadia days).
Nice!

Emma made dinner tonight - haddock in breadcrumbs with mash and alphabetti spaghetti. Love. Day 17 of my 365 project. 2011-01-17
One of my guilty little pleasures is this red sauce... the good stuff, not the gloopy coagulated mess. Sometimes (like this time) it's actually better than what it's on.
Now, how to order it?
Sweet & sour sauce? I often end up with plum sauce/duck sauce instead.
Cherry Sauce? plum sauce again, or an odd tilt of the head and nothing.
Red Sauce? A good bet that I'll get hot sauce 50% of the time... but that's okay. I like hot sauce too.
Red sauce made from shallot, garlic, lemon zest and juice, capers.
Fillet is pan roasted and topped with micro arugala.
Pile it on, now with even more sauce! Nine layers of tender lasagna ribbons, Ricotta, Mozzarella and Parmesan cheese, with a delicious filling of sliced mushrooms and spinach all baked together in a rich marinara sauce and seasonings. Hearty portions leave everyone satisfied. Super easy! It can go from freezer to oven to table in an hour.

I made these ravioli last week and froze them. The filling is a mixture of artichoke hearts, parsley and tofutti cream cheese.
I lightly sprayed them with EVOO and sprinkled on some flax seed, then baked at 375 degrees for 35 minutes and served them with red sauce.
Yummy.
A real crowd pleaser, these Italian cheese filled tortellini are simmered in a creamy marinara sauce with bacon crumbles and tender peas (or leave out the bacon for a delicious vegetarian meal)! It’s a quick, wholesome dinner or an excellent potluck offering. Your guests or family will enjoy every creamy mouthful!
