We stopped in Idaho Springs long enough to get a pizza from our favorite Colorado pizza restaurant, then dove down the mountain and through Denver and out into the high plains dark in a bid to get as far as we could before we slept. We'd hoped that maybe we could get as far as Nebraska, but we decided to stop just short of the line in the town of Sterling, Colorado. There was a disheveled Camaro from the 1980s parked in the lot. These cars were popular among the youth of rural Kentucky when I was a kid, and a lot of them wound up wrapped around backroad telephone poles next to piles of crushed cans of Busch Lite. It's rare to see one in working order.
On Tuesday, fish. On Thursday, fiddle. I've never seen anything like these dish towels (but I have that same syrup jug).

This guy was dressed up as a racist redneck,... complete with a Confederate flag & Mcain-Palin sign on his back! Brilliant.
Had a good old redneck sunday. Thats a reproduction .58 caliber 2 band enfield. I have some civil war reenactor friends. We didnt have any balls (Translate ammo, not cojones) so we had to shoot blanks (Oh god this is getting worse) but it was still good fun.
