A number of property owners in Evandale are doing the wise thing while tourists aren't around; they are renovating their properties. This lovely little 19th century building has been in need of some tender loving care for a while, and now some work is being done.
Once again this is an image I've converted to black and white and coloured through colour toning. The wall is close to the original colour, but I thought I'd give the old lady a pretty red door to try and hide the broken glass.

Red-shouldered Hawk is a medium-sized buteo, smaller than Red-tailed Hawk but slightly larger than Broad-winged Hawk. In the East, they are found in riparian or swampy woodlands. In the West, they are found in oak woodlands, riparian areas, and suburban areas with large trees. Red-shouldered Hawks are shy and secretive in the East, but they are quite tame in the West and in Florida. The Red-shouldered Hawk is uncommon to fairly common as a breeder throughout the eastern part of its range, but declining in certain areas. In the West, they are expanding north into Washington, when once only found in California and southern Oregon. There are four subspecies: Eastern (B. l. lineatus), California (B. l. elegans), Florida (B. l. alleni), and Texas (B. l. extimus), but plumage overlap exists between Eastern, Florida, Texas, so not all individuals are identifiable to subspecies.
I found this one at Three Lakes Wildlife Management Area in Osceola County, Florida.

A bright red hogback made up of red shales, siltstones and sandstones that Geologists describe as the Chugwater Formation can be seen on the south end of the Chief Joseph Highway (Wyoming Route 296). These red beds were deposisted between 251.9 to 201.3 million of years ago during the Triassic Era. The ridge is capped by white gypsum beds that formed during the early Jurrasic (Gypsum Springs Formation),

Colorado in the monument's name means "colored red" and refers to the color of the sandstone rather than to the state. The white Book Cliffs are in the background.

A very healthy Red Fox at the end of winter in Alaska's Arctic Region. Snow flies in late September and stays on the ground until late May and even into June. The appearance of this fox's coat and tail, tells us that it had a good winter, plenty of food and good shelter to ride out the storms. Often time, the foxes of the Arctic can be seen napping on top of the snow when it is well below freezing. Their coats in the Arctic are much thicker than their cousins in the warmer climates. The fox are adept hunters and also will feed on food left by other predators of the North Country.
