At long last, our red crucifix orchid has flowered. We are also waiting on a yellow one to do the same, adding to the other pink and orange varieties.

Haven't had a chance to carry and use my DSLR for a while. Here's a snap of a red-naped ibis with the mirror less borrowed from my son. Yaken at IIT Campus, Gandhinagar, Gujrat.
This red and green necklace is one I made and have been wearing this season. To enhance the festive spirit, I’ve hanged it from a holly branch.

Red squirrels can be very difficult subjects to photograph, but also very cute subjects when they stop and pause
Series of six. My first Red-throated Diver. Interesting to be able to compare it with the Black and Northern at the same time. This is definitely my favourite of the pics.
2021 marks the 100th anniversary of the Remembrance Poppy in Canada
Madame Anna Guérin, later christened "The Poppy Lady from France", inspired by John McCrae's "In Flanders Fields", had an idea: to adopt the distribution of the Poppy on Armistice Day as a way to raise money for Veterans' needs and to remember those who had given their lives during the First World War.
In July of 1921 the Great War Veterans Association (which in 1925 would unify with other Veteran groups to form the Canadian Legion) adopted the Poppy as the flower of Remembrance.
Since then, the Legion and its members have upheld this tradition of Remembrance.
