Recycled paper chandelier made for a Woodend Artists ACE funded event in Aug 08. The artist ran workshops with local youth groups to make the origami cubes. These were then grouped into colour and suspended by fishing wire from a central frame.

In FY08 and FY09, Tobyhanna Army Depot recycled 2,779,230 pounds of scrap wood, saving a minimum of 27,000 cubic yards of landfill space. Wood is one of the few materials recycled at a cost to TYAD. TYAD reuses good-condition scrap wood pallets and then recycles the rest of the clean scrap wood.

Recycling something into some usable product is the call of the hour as it helps to maintain our resources and limitations garbage generation. With this concept Suck UK, a business producing home accessories and presents have actually turned old bottles into table lamps. More info: bit.ly/2TGdJf7

Don't you want to wait until AFTER you read tomorrow's newspaper before recycling it?

this is only 10yrs old and is made from recycled corrugated iron

it was originally built for a japanese movie but a miner lives in it now

I spray painted my OLD, yellow (with black graphics in 3 languages) recycling bins green, set them on cinder blocks, filled them with soil, and planted peas and bok choi seeds.

This was a gift for my Mum, made in 1990 - it was a one-off and it is still a favourite piece of mine. The silver hand is made from a recycled drink can.

These gorgeous tea light holders are made using two recycled CD's! They are even more stunning and reflective when lit.

They are for sale now from 'Fancy Tat Crafts', 'We specialise in creating new and beautiful treasures by upcycling pre-loved or neglected stuff! Our products are lovingly handmade from unwanted and salvaged objects. Our philosophy is to re-use wherever possible.'

More information at Fancy Tat website !

Idea sent by Claire Patchett !

created from 100% recycled and scrounged stuff.

The covers are old placemats covered in vintage dress making patterns.

Japanese screws and hinges bind the book so it can be added to later.

Bits of my own art and found paper are inside, paper bags, unused bits from my stash..

One of a kind journal.

Single-stream recycling bins. These are all over the place.

I did something rare and made something for myself instead of my dolls for a change. This huge hobo bag with a prepossessed look used to be my dad's ancient trench coat. I love the softness of the vintage leather, but I did do a silly thing and lined it with black cotton. Now the huge purse is a black hole that eats up stuff regardless of the numerous pockets I put into the lining. ;)

University of Birmingham students Eleanor Bower, Laura Bass and Vicki Holmes join Sharon Lea (Birmingham City Council's Strategic Director of Environment and Culture) to promote the council's Olympic-inspired bra recycling challenge.

My first thing entirely designed by me, no tutorials followed, yaay! All materials again completely secondhand reused. old shirt, old dress, old jacket, old belt :)

"Think before you throw."

The subtext being, Malaysia is dirty and has a problem with rubbish because RAKYAT BIASA (REGULAR PEOPLE) don't think before they throw.

Meanwhile factories and heavy industry throw their waste wherever they please. Nolah. Malaysia has a problem with waste management because the Government turn a blind eye to the real source of the problem.

Created from throwaway packaging.

I made these Children's Pallet Picnic Tables to be 44" long and 48" wide from the outside of the seats. They stand 24" off the ground with the seats 12" from the ground. The table top, seats and the braces are made from recycled pallets. I used 3" carriage bolts and 2 1/2" wood screws.

Children's Pallet Picnic Tables create fun play spaces and handy overflow seating for family gatherings! Make your own today!

Make a picnic table that'll make your kids squeal with delight! There's nothing better to a child than having furniture sized just for them. It creates a bit of magic and inspiration. Plus, have them help you with the build - with staining or painting, or even sanding. Just be sure to supervise your little ones. We want to see another generation of Pallet Crafters! If you make your own design, please submit it!

Looking good in a dark stain! The carriage bolts look great against the dark color. These Children's Pallet Picnic Tables will get the kids outdoors in no time![/caption]

[caption id="attachment_38188" align="aligncenter" width="600"]

Leave it natural, or add a subtle stain to highlight that gorgeous wood! This one upcycles more than one type of wood, but that's the beauty of DIY - use what you have![/caption]

If you want to have some more fun, have the kids paint their own custom designs. Then, seal it to protect their artwork or years to come! Although there are no drawings or cut list for this project, we've found you a similar idea for DIY Children's Pallet Benches at a great blog site called DIY Needles and Nails. They provide a handy set of plans that will explain how to build it. Adapt the measurements to your children's needs. Now that you've made a bench, how about a Kid's Playhouse? Get them to turn the electronics OFF and enjoy the outdoors more with these creative ideas!

To the left is the customer entrance. The previous photo was taken from the same spot, just looking to the right.

Former Penske Auto Center interior at Kmart. Victor, NY. January 2014.

This is a vintage dress that I altered to include the top of an old cowboy boot. I also added elastic straps and panels, and cut away portions of the old dress, in an attempt to make it fit more actual humans. Like many vintage dresses it had a narrow waist designed to fit over undergarments that aren't really worn that often any more. As a result the dress is too big for me now - thank goodness I was planning on selling it anyway. I have a big sale this weekend and can't wait to see it on someone with boobs.
