Not very seasonal in February I know but I am getting some artwork ready for submission for next Christmas' publication.
Vintage Santa image used on piece of recycled corrugated cardboard, painted with gesso and finished with vintage lace and embellishments.
(This was made in several 20 minutes a day sessions!)

Recycle image using cut n' past pics from the net. I eventually created a pdf document of this image to save.

San Francisco's garbage and recycling center offers fellowships to artists who use recycled materials in their work! I SO want to go there.
i spotted this man in manila who carves this decorations from discarded plastic bottles and sells them for about 80(US)cents each
It was recycle day in our part of the city. Was sitting at a very long light and noticed this. For my Public Service friends.

Cedar Rapids IOWA, German - Greek Artist MO worked with various Metro Alternative School students and Mt.Mercy University (groups of 3-6) to create a kinetic sculpture inspired by the DUNG BEETLE for the Eco Art Festival made from scrap steel and found objects size: 8’ x 8’ x 12’ The Workplace and equipment got generous provided by Kirkwood Industrial Technology Department, Different Departments visit the art in progress. Artist will give one day workshop at Johnson Elementary School of the Arts and art lectures at Mt. Mercy University. Artist will present the sculpture at the Eco Festival in connection with world wide celebrated EARTH DAY.

I made these flowers primarily from recycled products: the flowers themselves are made from the pages of old catalogs/magazines & the 'stems' are cut from my sunflowers in the backyard.

this bag was knitted using plastic shopping bags, the kind you get from the grocery store.
100% made out of recycled plastic bags, some of those bags themsevles were recycled (confused yet?)
in total roughly 200 plastic bags were used.
i first knitted strips then i sewed them together, using plastic bags.
it took 3 months to create, this was while i was working & studying.
