Eco Bunny is an amigurumi doll made from and stuffed with plastic bags. I live in a country where plastic bag recycling and re-using has not yet caught on. Even if you buy one little thing in a shop they won't let you out without putting it in a plastic bag. As a result there are plastic bags everywhere - caught up in trees and polluting the rivers. Eco Bunny is pointing the way to a new future where plastic bags will no longer destroy the environment.
Our recycling event at Tyee High School provided locals with the opportunity to recycle goods like tires, paint, porcelain, and styrofoam on Oct. 23.
The inside I finished with a cute turquoise print and I added a money pocket as well as three credit card pockets. I got to learn about binding and more buttonholing!

Recycled pallet wood product made from HT (Heat Treated) pallet wood. Pallet wood is beautiful when planed and sanded to show its inner color and wood grain. Hand made on our off grid homestead at recycledpalletproducts.com
This piece of adhesive plastic is proud to hint that it's recyclable wherever >PE< plastic is accepted. Whether it's PETE, HDPE, LDPE, or Physical Education, I dunno, but after it's spent a good long time with my foot on it, I'll extract it from my discarded shoe and take it wherever it should go.

Each year the french city of Saint-Victor-sur-Loire hosts a popular raft race that draws visitors from around the region. However one team, Open Sources, decided to put a green spin on their entry to this year’s competition by using recycled materials. Working in partnership with the city of Saint-Etienne and assorted local civic organizations, the team built a catamaran out of plastic bottles and reused wood.

A stocking I made from a felted sweater. A slight variation on Betz White's pattern in "Warm Fuzzies." (I enlarged the pattern to 150% rather than 133%, and used the ribbing from the sweater rather than adding a cuff at the top.)
I made it as a gift for a friend who is letting me keep it for a few more days!

This is a really beautiful bag made out of pvc canvas. The canvas had been part of an art project in 2008/2009 by the artist Margot Olde Loohuis. The building on which the canvas was attached was about to be demolished and a new destination had to be found. MAAK: bureau voor hergebruik an institution that works with artists and recycling was asked to help in this matter. MAAK asked artist Marjolijn Kroon to design a bag for this project. The result is awesome and very sustainable.

Bikes often fall into the canals in Amsterdam, so they get fished out every few weeks with a giant magnet and put back on the road again.
Recycle is one of the three R’s of green living. It is just as important as the other two R’s – Reduce and Reuse.
As you continue to make conscious efforts to preserve the environment, we hope these little tips help make the journey fun and easy.
It's time to recycle some clay. I had 4 concrete mixing tubs that were heaping full. This should be about 12 to 14 buckets full. During recycling, you need to completely dry out the clay. Later, when you add water, it will completely fall apart and mix easily. I hadn't planned on buying any clay this year, but I got in a hurry and had to. After I finish recycling this batch, I'll have at least 60 if not 80 buckets of scraps. Either I need to trim less or throw more. I think that each 5 gallon bucket holds the dried remains of 75 to 100 pounds of clay.
