Dave’s NAB2015 Recap. I thought this was going to be a quick video but it ended up being over 20 minutes long. www.learningvideo.com/nab2015-recap/

Every month is a big month for savings at QuiBids, which is why we have to recap them all to help us remember and celebrate our sharpest, most fortuitous customers and all the great prizes they win for wee bits of cash! May was no different, and all those savings going around surely paid off big for a bunch of customers looking for a great gift for Mother’s Day or even just help trying to win one!

Well let’s get right to it and check out this month’s ten best deals! We do however advise you not to proceed if you’re easily prone to convulsions brought on by severe jealousy of others’ massive savings.

Item: Jamo Home Theater SystemPrice: $1.28

Winner spent: 15 Voucher Bids

Savings: $428.71

A home theater system? Without placing a single Real Bid? And while using the Bid-O-Matic? Color us impressed. Jakers5447 may not have even been sitting at his or her computer when he or she won this thing. Imagine coming home from a long day of work to find an email informing you that you’ve won a brand-new home theater system. Really improves your day, huh?

Item: Dirt King Adult Dually Tricycle

Price: $0.68

Winner spent: Three Real Bids, 29 Voucher Bids

Savings: $427.51We might or might not have tested this thing out in our office recently, so we may or may not be able to say with a degree of authority that Mr. littlebill is in for a ton of fun. Ahem. Theoretically speaking, of course.

Item: 16GB Apple iPad 2Price: $1.04

Winner spent: Five Real Bids

Savings: $405.95

We auction off iPads all the time, but it’s rare that any go for so close to an even dollar. Even more rare that a customer spends less on bids than they do on shipping, and for that we salute you, Mr. or Mrs. Unlimited BIDZ. You went after this one just like that Doberman avatar of yours.

Item: Masterbuilt Electric SmokerPrice: $0.91

Winner spent: Two Real Bids

Savings: $302.88

Just in time for summer, customer septembre scored this great smoker for even less than the cost of a couple slabs of meat that it can cook. Hey septembre — you, uh, mind giving us a call whenever you host your first cookout?

Item: Oasis Cabana GazeboPrice: $0.70

Winner spent: Ten Real Bids

Savings: $343.29

So we spotlighted this particular product a few weeks ago which is how we first saw karprive’s impressive win — a $349.99 product for an even ten Real Bids. It sounds like he/she needs to get together with septembre to host this killer summer cookout that they’re inviting us to.

Item: US Traveler Rio Carry-On SetPrice: $0.01

Winner spent: One Real Bid

Savings: $49.38

While auctions are won for a single penny on QuiBids just about every day, it’s very rare for an item in the $50 strata to go practically unbid-on. Big-time kudos to cpbutterfield, whose instincts served him or her right here!

Item: Pioneer Home Theater ReceiverPrice: $1.76

Winner spent: Nine Real Bids

Savings: $592.83

Hmmm. Let’s take a second to make a list of things that jack207 can do with the $592.83 cents he saved purchasing this brand-new audio receiver:

1. Pay his rent or mortgage for the month.

2. Buy a 40-inch Toshiba LCD television to accompany it.

3. Put a down payment on a car.

4. Shop for food for a family of four for a month.

5. Or just buy a bunch more bids on QuiBids.

Not bad, eh? We’re glad we could help you out, jack!

Item: Nike Stretch Tech Solid PoloPrice: $0.03

Winner spent: 1 Voucher Bid

Savings: $134.96

Hey, that comes out to, like, a penny a shirt!

Item: Canon EOS Rebel T3i Camera BundlePrice: $1.76

Winner spent: One Real Bid, 41 Voucher Bids

Savings: $757.63

Pound for pound, this is the largest savings we spotted on the auction block this month! Did you see one for more? Sound off in the comments, below!

And of course, congratulations to LMFAO1, who’s undoubtedly a happy camper shooting some really high-quality photos at the moment.

We attended the expedition recap, where we heard from each crew member about their roles during the journey. Going at the slow rate of a swimmer enabled them to really delve into the plastic pollution they encountered.

Next there was a panel discussion on microplastics featuring Ben, Tyral Dalitz (expedition leader), Dr. Sarah-Jeanne Royer (plastic and microfiber expert at Scripps), and Carla Murphy (apparel visionary at Icebreaker).

I didn't build a huge amount in 2023, but it's more than 2022. November and December came in clutch, accounting for 7 out of 9 builds. The 9th I really can't get good photos of, but it's my first proper landscape display for a convention. At some point I'll get a space big enough to take a good photo of it.

It's been a lot of fun to get back into Bionicle and Technic work. The Rider Units aren't hugely complex, but they're something a bit different and a lot of fun. The Strider was my first attempt at a non-humanoid, non-bike in a very long time, and while it's also simple, I'm very pleased with it.

I'm also very happy with how Kromastus turned out - He feels like a culmination of the ideas that started the build way back in 2011 or 2012.

Here's hoping 2024 is a year of more building - I finally have a good source of parts, an adult job to fund this crippling addiction, and I've found the fun in building again, which was the biggest thing I've lost.

When in doubt, build what you like, for the reasons you like building it. Me, I like cool robot bikes, spaceships, and big chunky humanoids.

I remark this year as the hardest year I've ever had, everything I'd done suddenly turned out really bad all at once. Thought I'd never share it cause to me, it's like all my failure and weakness that I bet everyone would find it hard to talk about. But as time goes by, I believe that it can be turned into strengthen at some points. I'm happy to say that when looking back, I've grown up a bit since then....

Family

- I lost a piece of me and a part of my family. Yes, nothing can compare to the loss of a loved one, especially someone who brought you to life... Eveything happened so fast from the moment I got back to Vietnam, I'd been told and pushed to do this and that like a child, all "traditional" stuffs... Sometimes I just wonder why we have to make our life more complicated than it should be. When it comes down to an emotional and stressful event like this, please appreciate the moment and let the emotion leads the way, let the children cry.... I just think it's crazy and stupid when we had to worry about the food, the guest list, the money... and suddenly forgot why we were here.

As the result, the hardest part was left for us, that was the time when we were back to the reality. I still remember how heart-broken it was when I saw my sister crying out and saying "I miss mum so much" every evening. I was crying in the inside too but couldn't let her see it and just tried to cheer her up....

-My relatives have changed.... I love them all but seems like they're just selfish ones, just care and bla bla about how they feel about the others instead of having attention to how the children feel like when they have to stand between like that.... Shame on you, adult!

- Having many conflicts with my dad [never happened before], losing trust from him and I didn't trust him like I used to. Feel like I had absolutely no privacy in "his" house and that's also what he told me which I could never forget...

- My sister became my biggest care since then

Love

It didn't work out well since the 1st day of the year, full of emotions but not much joy, mostly upset, lonely, crazy, desperate... We had so much in common but that's probably the reason why we didn't make it, two strong individuals can hardly get along. Even though, he's the one that has the ability to make me feel like I'm such a little girl, lol, but well, sometimes, things happen for its reason. We have our own life, I'm pretty sure we'll cope with it well and keep moving on :)

Life

- I agreed to devote my 2 years to do something I had no idea of, just to get the job done and move on but life isn't that easy. Day after day, I found out what I was studying is not truly what I want to do in future. The studying was interesting though but in real life, it's another different world.... I'm stronger now about what I want, I wouldn't waste time to do what I know I don't want to do, simply because it won't make any change if I continue accepting that fact. Even when I'm truly in financial hardship but I'll find the way out. There'll be...

- In 2009, I had to redo one semester due to the time I got back home and almost failed one subject which I couldn't believe it, until now.... I had to do that test 3 times: long one, short one, verbal one... Never happened in my life, it's ridiculous.

- I was messed up with all the paper works and applications that I've done at the end of the year. Sometimes I thought it was completely hopeless and I was ready to leave any time but then, things still worked out, somehow I don't even know.... Phew

- 31/12: the last thing I wanted to do to finish off this damn year was something good so I decided to donate blood for Red Cross, lol. And it turned out that I got blacked out several times on the way back home.

That New Years' Eve was heavily raining but well, I didn't care, just soaked in the rain and watched the firework.... Happy New Year!

Life can get you down but it's your choice to get back up :)

Ps: it's longer than I expect but anyway, thank you so much if you're still reading ^^
