I had already forgotten that years ago I happen to get across such a apparition in snow! It tried to be as it has frozen still, tried to masquerade as a pine twiq, but it did not foo me! Maybe it was the real Santa Claus? :D Straight unedited from Nokia N8 camera.

i love and admire my dad beyond words. he just had heart surgery and i was by his side at mayo clinic. the surgery went well. he's healing beautifully. it's all good news. yet here i sit: raw, tired, and vulnerable. long days, hospital rooms, intense emotions. i held his hand, soothed his discomfort, and watched him become himself again.
the return home was strange. i felt disconnected from the real world. but now i wonder: what is the "real world"? being with my dad--when he most needed me--is as real as it gets.
i think real life is exactly where i am in the moment, staying present and open to everything.

The Bardenas Reales is a semi-desert natural region, or badlands, of some 42,000 hectares (100,000 acres) in southeast Navarre (Spain). The soils are made up of clay, chalk and sandstone and have been eroded by water and wind creating surprising shapes, canyons, plateaus, tabular structures and isolated hills, called cabezos. Bardenas lacks urban areas, vegetation is scarce and the many streams that cross the territory have a markedly seasonal flow, staying dry most of the year.
I was astounded by this special landscape in Spain.

This guy worked (or still works) as a can picker. A laborious profession of low remuneration. The boy takes the cans and sells them to recycling. Very curious thing, he was dressed like Spider Man, and in the moment I thought, “This is ACTUALLY a hero”. We had this naughty hot weather in Rio de Janeiro and he seemed to have a lot of willingness, although he didn’t have any super powers nor a spider web trigger in his wrist.

The Phi Phi Islands (Thai: หมู่เกาะพีพี) are located in Thailand, between the large island of Phuket and the western Andaman Sea coast of the mainland. Phi Phi Don, the larger and principal of the two Phi Phi islands, is located at [show location on an interactive map] 7°44′00″N, 98°46′00″E. Both Phi Phi Don, and Phi Phi Leh, the smaller, are administratively part of Krabi province, most of which is on the mainland, and is located at [show location on an interactive map] 8°02′30″N, 98°48′39″E.
Ko Phi Phi Don ("ko" (Thai: เกาะ) meaning "island" in the Thai language) is the largest island of the group, and is the only island with permanent inhabitants, although the beaches of the second largest island, Ko Phi Phi Lee (or "Ko Phi Phi Leh"), are visited by many people as well. There are no accommodation facilities on this island, but it is just a short boat ride from Ko Phi Phi Don. The rest of the islands in the group, including Bida Nok, Bida Noi, and Bamboo Island, are not much more than large limestone rocks jutting out of the sea.
Phi Phi Don was initially populated by Muslim fishermen during the late 1940s, and later became a coconut plantation. The Thai population of Phi Phi Don remains more than 80% Muslim.But the actual population if counting laborers, especially from the north-east, from the mainland is much more Buddhist these days.
Ko Phi Phi Leh was the backdrop for the 2000 movie The Beach. Phi Phi Leh also houses the 'Viking Cave', from which there is a thriving bird's nest soup industry. There was criticism during filming of 'The Beach' that the permission granted to the film company to physically alter the environment inside Phi Phi Islands National Park was illegal. [1] The controversy cooled down however, when it was discovered that the producers had done such a decent job of restoring the place that it finally looked better than it had done before.
Following the release of The Beach, tourism on Phi Phi Don increased dramatically, and with it the population of the island. Many buildings were constructed without planning permission.[citation needed]
Ko Phi Phi was devastated by the Indian Ocean tsunami of December 2004, when nearly all of the island's infrastructure was wiped out. Redevelopment has, however, been swift, and services like electricity, water, Internet access and ATMs are up and running again, but waste handling has been slower to come back online.

Forget the TV show. The real stars of the Jersey Shore were NJ Transit's E8 fleet, which numbered 26 in total although many reposed in deadlines. Ten units including the 4267 were rebuilt in the ICG Paducah shops. Their assignment was the non-electrified Bay Head Junction to South Amboy portion of the North Jersey Coast Line. By 1987 age and extension of the wires put the covered wagons into retirement, although a few hung on to help out diesel powered trains to Newark. Here the 4267 is teamed with F40PH No. 4129 to lead train 5306 north out of South Amboy on the morning of 19 June 1987. By year's end the E's would all be retired.
La garza real europea (Ardea cinerea) es una especie de ave pelecaniforme de la familia Ardeidae nativa de Europa y de Asia templada, incluso partes de África. Es residente en zonas templadas pero muchas migran en verano a zonas más frías y en invierno a zonas más cálidas.
Es un ave grande, parada mide 90 a 100 cm de altura, con una envergadura de alas de 1,70 a 2 m y un peso de 1 a 2 kg. Su plumaje es mayormente gris arriba, y algo blanco debajo. Los adultos tienen la cabeza blanca con un copete negro superciliar y una cresta delgada, en los juveniles toda la cabeza es gris. Tiene un pico fuerte rosa-amarillento, brillante cuando adultos. Tiene un vuelo lento, con su largo cuello retraído (forma de S). Cuando extiende su cuello, el pico semeja una cuchara. Esto es característico de las garzas y garcetas, y los distingue de las cigüeñas.
Está muy relacionada y es similar a la garza real americana Ardea herodias, que difiere en ser algo más grande, y pardos sus flancos y finales de ala. La garza de cara blanca australiana Ardea novaehollandiae es a veces incorrectamente llamada "garza real".

There were lots of men there in suits and ties. I am thankful that these men like looking strong and masculine, because as you may know, I do like the fellas! But I would hate to have to wear a suit and tie myself! How boring! I wonder what they'd think if they knew I was a male too in my pink dress! Young men at these events are rather testosterone driven and rowdy, so I was a little worried that if I got read, there might be a scene. Luckily, everything went well.
I love my pictures with masculine men in the background (or foreground). It's a reminder of my sissy nature and I also love revelling in the contrast between masculine and feminine, so whenever I can, I try to get pictures of me with men in them.
