Having a soulmate is not always about love; you can also find your soulmate in a close friendship. After several years of friendship, this is how I classify us. Without you, this past year would have been hell.. You guided me out of that darkness, gave me so much support without asking for anything in return. Not too many men would stand by a woman's side as she cried about the heartache from another. You truly touched my heart in spots I thought were poisoned by the last. Not all loves are equal, and the loudest ones are where no words are needed. You just feel it.

i love and admire my dad beyond words. he just had heart surgery and i was by his side at mayo clinic. the surgery went well. he's healing beautifully. it's all good news. yet here i sit: raw, tired, and vulnerable. long days, hospital rooms, intense emotions. i held his hand, soothed his discomfort, and watched him become himself again.

the return home was strange. i felt disconnected from the real world. but now i wonder: what is the "real world"? being with my dad--when he most needed me--is as real as it gets.

i think real life is exactly where i am in the moment, staying present and open to everything.

The Bardenas Reales is a semi-desert natural region, or badlands, of some 42,000 hectares (100,000 acres) in southeast Navarre (Spain). The soils are made up of clay, chalk and sandstone and have been eroded by water and wind creating surprising shapes, canyons, plateaus, tabular structures and isolated hills, called cabezos. Bardenas lacks urban areas, vegetation is scarce and the many streams that cross the territory have a markedly seasonal flow, staying dry most of the year.

I was astounded by this special landscape in Spain.

Look the interesting video

Forget the TV show. The real stars of the Jersey Shore were NJ Transit's E8 fleet, which numbered 26 in total although many reposed in deadlines. Ten units including the 4267 were rebuilt in the ICG Paducah shops. Their assignment was the non-electrified Bay Head Junction to South Amboy portion of the North Jersey Coast Line. By 1987 age and extension of the wires put the covered wagons into retirement, although a few hung on to help out diesel powered trains to Newark. Here the 4267 is teamed with F40PH No. 4129 to lead train 5306 north out of South Amboy on the morning of 19 June 1987. By year's end the E's would all be retired.

Is it Real?

I know this image looks like a diorama in a natural history museum, but I like the colors of the landscape

I had the pleasure of meeting Real Quiet back in 2005 when he was 10 years old at a farm not far from my home. He almost won the Triple Crown back in 1998 losing by a nose in the Belmont Stakes. A wonderful horse... passed away at age of 15 in 2010. I took this shot with a much older point and shoot camera.

raised up the bar i don’t do limits.

A real rarity, and strangely enough previously spotted by fellow spotter GTRJackoPlates up north. These were only sold in Russia and Ukraine in Europe, so rather an obscurity, and Ukrainian plates are very rare in my experience, especially on cars. I was with my girlfriend at the time, down on the south coast, but I had to snap this one.

Film.

+ 9 digital pictures in comments. Which I might end up uploading a couple on their own later.

Watch/Listen this scene from the movie Across the Universe. It inspired this photo.

If you would like to hear an angry teenage girl rant, feel free to read the following:

First off, I am very disappointed with this photo. I had the idea of it in my head, but it didn't turn out at all. My sisters hand is in an awkward position and when I was taking the picture I kind of panicked and didn't take it at the right time. Argg....

Second, all of my digital photos lately have sucked! I have no idea what to do with my camera. Yet when I have my film camera I have been doing okay, but I can't just only take pictures with my film camera! That would require A LOT of film, which I don't have. I have loads of digital photo that I hate stocked up, because nothing has been turning out. I am stuck in a crappy rut. :(

Lastly, the weather here has sucked! It is overcast 24/7! Which doesn't work well with the few picture ideas I have. I need sun. I wouldn't even mind rain, but the clouds just sit up there in the sky and try to make me mad. Well guess what! It's working. I couldn't even see the Super Moon last night, so now I have to wait another 20 years. I need ideas. Utah weather is killing me here. And on top of all of that, I have to go back to school tomorrow and I haven't seen the ocean since August!

Alcaudón Real (Lanius meridionalis).

There's an acidic aesthetic that keeps peeling back and eating away at my perspective. It's a sickness called dereliction, the slow-motion disaster of dilapidation settling in. I keep telling myself that I've had enough, then go back for a fresh injection of ugly beauty. You can't make these things up, it would take too much time and effort to invent the set dressing of abandonment. But these aren't cobweb-strewn, haunted movie mansions, they're the rending remnants of real lives lost. Next to this structure is another, smaller, newer, now also left to ruin. It's a common sight, I've seen it dozens of times – an elderly man has his home fall around him, and rebuilds just yards away. It must feel strange, every day, to look out your window as your memories get forgotten. It's like a ghost watching his body turn to dust, wondering when it's time to let it all go lost.
